Carbis Bay Holidays Fernhill Lodge

Upon entering the 32’ wide open plan living area you can’t help but say ‘wow’ to one of the most amazing panoramic sea views in St Ives.  This magnificent space is home to the lounge, dining area, bespoke George Robinson kitchen and study area.  The cathedral height floor the ceiling windows allow you to take full advantage of the amazing views, along with providing access out on to the full width covered balcony, where we are sure many an hour will be enjoyed relaxing in the Cornish fresh air.   

Living Area

Two large sofas seat seven in complete comfort and are perfectly positioned for taking in the superb panoramic views across the bay.  Extra touches like complimentary wireless internet, a large LCD television with full Sky+ package, CD/MP3 player with iPod dock and Nintendo Wii can be found.  During those cooler evenings, why not snuggle up in front of the cosy gas fired "wood burner"?

Dining Area

The dining area accommodates an oak table seating eight and is perfectly located next to the kitchen, yet still enjoys the amazing views.  Enjoy eating outdoors during the summer months, on the balcony with table and chairs accommodating eight. Alternatively a Webber barbecue is provided for you to enjoy eating al fresco in the garden. 

If you choose to eat in and do not wish to cook, a variety of the local restaurants provide a take away service.  You are spoilt for choice with the number of quality restaurants nearby such as La Casita and Becks Fish and Chip restaurant.  Alternatively you may wish to sample the culinary delights of the local fine dining in St Ives at the Porthminster or Seafood Café. Travel further afield to Jamie Oliver's Fifteen restaurant in Watergate Bay, or one of Rick Stein's eateries in Padstow. Do remember to book in advance to avoid disappointment.

Study Area

Also benefiting from the stunning views is the study area which is the perfect place to set up you laptop and work away from home if you have to.

This beautifully-crafted, bespoke kitchen by George Robinson is built in ash with granite surfaces and makes cooking at Fernhill Lodge a pleasure.  Why else would Fernhill Lodge have starred in 25 Beautiful Kitchens magazine?  There is an American fridge-freezer with ice maker, integrated NEFF dishwasher, microwave, induction hob, oven and separate grill.  In addition is an "island" with a breakfast bar and stools, ideally positioned for enjoying a morning cuppa from the coffee machine whilst taking in the superb view.  All the usual appliances are provided as you would expect from five star accommodation, along with a wonderful selection of utensils, crockery and glassware.

Utility Room

A separate utility room is located on the ground floor where the washer/dryer, sink, clothes airer, iron and ironing board can be found.  This room also boasts Travertine Italian floor tiles.

Bedroom One with En-Suite

The master bedroom has a sumptuously dressed king size bed, large built in triple wardrobe, matching bedside drawers with reading lamps, a dressing table with further drawers so you will have plenty of storage space, stool and vanity mirror. Watch the 19" LCD television with DVD/CD player and full Sky+ multi-room package from your comfortable king bed, or enjoy the sea view from the double-glazed picture windows, which leads out to a part-covered patio, overlooking the sub-tropical garden.  For those who enjoy listening to their own music, there is an alarm clock iPod docking station, you will also find a hairdryer.  

The master bedroom benefits from an en-suite shower room with complimentary White Company toiletries.

Bedroom Two

From your king size bed, you can benefit from outstanding views through the double glazed picture window, taking in the mouth of the Hayle estuary and Hayle Towans.  Step out onto a part-covered patio, overlooking the sub-tropical garden with views of the sea. There is a 19" LCD television with full Sky+ multi-room package and DVD/CD player and a hairdryer. There is also plenty of storage in the large wardrobe, bedside drawers with matching reading lamps and a chest of drawers.  For those who will need an alarm to wake them, or for those who enjoy listening to their own music, there is an iPod dock for your entertainment.

Bedroom Three

The third bedroom of Fernhill Lodge is a large room and comprises three single beds, ideal for adults and children alike.  Located to the side of the property, although this room does not boast the sea views, you can be assured of a quite nights sleep.  It is furnished to a high specification and benefits from a 19" LCD television with the full Sky multi-room package, Playstation II with a selection of games, DVD/CD player, iPod docking alarm clock and hairdryer.  Plentiful storage is provided within the wardrobe, chest of drawers and bedside drawers with matching reading lamps. Fernhill Lodge has to be one of Cornwalls finest self catering accommodation.

A set of crisp white, fresh bed linen and a bath sheet, bath towel, and hand towel are provided for each guest.

Bathroom One

The family bathroom is conveniently located adjacent to bedrooms two and three and boasts Travertine Italian stone tiling, whirlpool bath with overhead power shower, WC, wash basin, bidet and heated towel rail for keeping your towels nice and toasty.  A large mirror and mirrored cabinet with an electric shaver point can be found.

Bathroom Two

The en-suite to the master bedroom of Fernhill Lodge is appointed to a high standard with Travertine tiling and comprises a large rainfall shower, wash basin, WC, heated towel rail and mirrored cabinet with shaver point.  This is the place to unwind after those long hot sunny days on the beach or spring-time walks along the cliff.  

A bath sheet, bath towel and hand towel are provided for each guest, together with complimentary White Company toiletries.

Covered Balcony

The picture windows and patio doors not only create a light and airy living area, but also lead out on to a spectacular full width, covered balcony which is a fantastic private space for alfresco dining or just enjoying the amazing panoramic outlook.  You can enjoy use of the balcony late into the evening when the exterior lighting of Fernhill Lodge causes this luxury self catering accommodation to be seen to "glow" on the hillside.

The balcony is directly above the sub-tropical garden and sun-terrace, perfect for watching the children play in the garden.

Garden

The garden has been landscaped to incorporate a large lawn area with sun loungers and a large paved area for entertaining.   An outdoor hot tub offers additional year round entertainment, on the upper layer of the garden it is accessed from the bedrooms.  Dressing gowns are provided for privacy.

Enjoy lazy barbecues on long summer evenings or challenge your fellow-guests to a game of boule on the lawn.  There is plentiful outdoor seating for you to enjoy the panoramic views across and around St Ives Bay to Godrevy Lighthouse.  The sun loungers and table and chairs to seat 8 are perfectly placed to benefit from the sunshine, ideal for an escape from city-life, gatherings of friends or families or time out to gain some inspiration for writing and sketching.  A discreet storage area with body boards, buckets, spades and beach games for both children and adults is located to the side of the property.

Parking

Ample parking is provided on the private, gated, paved driveway.  Two cars can conveniently be parked and manoeuvred with ease, with additional space for a third car if required.

Fernhill Lodge sits on land that once belonged to Doctor Rice who had a doctors surgery and dispensary nearby.  Then, as well as now Fernhill was approached along a wooded lane off St. Ives Road, that opens to glorious views of the valley which, now peaceful, once echoed with the sound of intense mining.  Access to the beach is a lovely walk through the beautiful Carbis Valley and a supermarket is located nearby.

Carbis Bay

It also connects to St Erth and Penzance to mainline UK stations including Paddington, London.
