John “Great location, lovely cottage”
- John, October 2023 -
Jennifer “Very comfortable stay.”
Car charging unit a plus point. A couple of points to mention, light bulbs missing from lamps in lounge; shower door downstairs off its runner; lack of pyrex dishes in kitchen; locks on bathroom doors not working properly. However these issues did not spoil our stay as we were able to work around them. A very pleasing property.
- Jennifer, October 2023Thank you for your feedback, we are so pleased that you enjoyed your stay. We have passed your points onto the relevant departments to look into but if you have any issues like these during your stay, please get in contact with us and one of the local team will be able to assist. Thank you again and we hope to welcome you back in the future. Kind Regards, The Carbis Bay Holidays Team Property Owner
Jane “Absolutely amazing place.”
Everything was so clean and the kitchen had everything we needed. Kind of bungalow I’d love to live in. Only downside was the washing machine left a funny smell on our clothes and outside table could do with replacing. Having said that we would definitely return to Carvean when we come back to Cornwall
- Jane, September 2023Thank you for your feedback we are pleased to hear everything was so clean and the kithcen had everything you needed. We are sorry to hear about the issue you had regarding the washing machine we will be sure to take a look into this. We hope to have the opportunity to welcome you back again in the future. Kind Regards, The Carbis Bay Holidays Team. Property Owner
Paul “Perfect location very comfortable ticket all the boxes for us”
- Paul, July 2023Robin “Carvean is conveniently situated close to Carbis Bay station and the beach, and the parking right outside the door is a big bonus.”
The house was well decorated and beautifully clean. The spacious ground floor has a well equipped kitchen and dining room with adjoining sitting room and a conservatory at the front of the house from which one can glimpse the sea. The utility room and downstairs shower room are a great asset. Upstairs the three bedrooms are relatively small but well furnished with extremely comfortable beds. The one slight problem we had with the house - but easy to remedy - was the total lack of any hooks in the property, apart from the front porch. This did result in clothes and wet towels ending up on the floor. The south-east facing patio has great potential but certainly needs a parasol and perhaps a couple of flower tubs to brighten it up. All in all we spent a very enjoyable week in Carvean with our teenage children. Sue.
- Robin, July 2023Thank you for your feedback, we are glad to hear you had an enjoyable week. we will be sure to pass this onto the owner of Carvean for their consideration. We hope to welcome you back to Carbis Bay Holidays again in the future. Kind regards The Carbis Bay Holidays Team. Property Owner
Taylor “The beds were comfy, however we were extremely disappointed on arrival, there is black mould in the conservatory, in the bathrooms, and trapped between the blinds in the bedrooms where it’s not been cleaned.”
It has been made to look like a detached bungalow and advertised as a cottage, however it’s a semi detached chalet bungalow. The garden was a complete mess, it is so neglected and wasn’t enjoyable to sit in. There was even a water bowl in the garden on the bench filled with green algae water!! The kitchen looks amazing in the images but was very worn down, the extractor had hairs hanging off the filter and light didn’t work. There is a serious issue with the conservatory roof! There is water ingress in it and it’s filling up with water! It’s then creating mould internally! The gutters haven’t been maintained and had growth in them which resulted in dripping on the conservatory roof when it rained which was so annoying and ruined us relaxing in evenings! The house upstairs is noisy due to everywhere creaking! The flooring downstairs is literally a trip hazard where it’s lifting. Then the bathroom extractors don’t work, and also are so noisy at night due to being on the coast line and them flapping inside. Tiles cracked in bathrooms in walls, blinds broken and back door and patio door handles so stiff it hurts to re secure them!! The presentation on arrival was also poor as the beds had just been thrown together and the ‘help pack’ isn’t even related to this property!! It references an apartment and things don’t tally up to this house! It could be amazing but it’s just not!

Had a lovely week. We look forward to returning next year! It's a lovely place and it was so clean! I usually spend time cleaning a place before we unpack but no need to here! You have a great housekeeper! Many thanks.
- N & A, Oct 2022Terri “We feel property needs a few additional safety points; Handrail to entrance steps Handrail to small steps to top bedroom Sun area roof to be cleaned externally of moss etc( also one panel broken) Side entrance to property to be maintained ie clered of leaves & bush to be kept cut back .”
Please take this as constructive criticism, And note we have re booked for next September. We look forward to your reply . Thanks the Kelly’

Beautiful beaches and the train was ideal. Can definitely recommend the Mackerel Fishing where I caught a John Dory!
- M, P, C & T, Sep 2022Katharine “The property is spacious and really well equipped we loved the beds they were very comfy.”
The only thing that let the property down was the messy garden. We would have liked to have used it in the evenings but the table was filthy and it really needed a tidy up. Overall though we love this place.
- Katharine, July 2022Thank you very much for your feedback, we are very pleased you had such a lovely stay! We have asked the housekeeper to clean the outside table or let us know if it needs replacing so we can approach the owner to do this. We do hope to welcome you back in the future!
