Carbis Bay Holidays :: Dog Friendly Days Out

Cornwall offers twelve designated Areas of Outstanding Natural Beauty, with the majority of West Cornwall included in this. This makes our spectacular area perfect for walking your best friend.
St Ives and the surrounding area, offer some great days out with your dog, here are our personal favourites:
- During the summer months, the staggering Chygurno garden at Lamorna Cove is open to the public. This dramatic garden is carved into the cliff top and offers spectacular views across the sea. If you can tear yourself away, make your way up to the Lamorna Pottery for a yummy Cornish cream tea.
- During the winter, Sunday’s is definitely dog walking day in St Ives, with many other dog owners out and about. Start from Porthminster beach walking across to the harbour, Porthgwidden, around the Island and then across to Porthmeor. This is a good walk to blow away the cobwebs. A great way to finish your walk is with a well deserved lunch at The Sloop Inn, where dogs are made as welcome as the owners.
- Tehidy Woods near Portreath is great for all the family. Children can climb the trees and play on the rope swings, the dog can splash about in the streams and you can enjoy the tranquil woodland and its wildlife.
- Trevarno Estate is fantastic, but the fact that you can take your dog makes it even better. Enjoy peaceful walks around the garden and woodland, step back in time in the National Museum of Gardening or buy some organic Trevarno skincare products. They have a great café, but we like to take a picnic, just be careful that the ducks don’t pinch your sandwiches.
