Surrounded by the sea in West Cornwall, you will have unlimited choice of locations for angling. Charter boats are available at most coastal villages including St Ives.
Coarse fishing is not so common possibily due the coastal location, but there are one or two delightful lakes in the Cornish countryside where you can enjoy the sport and enjoy nature at it's very best.
Woonsmith Lake Nancledra
Course fishing at Woonsmith Lake, Nancledra near St Ives; a 1.5 acre lake from an old china clay pit and is well stocked with well conditioned fish including Carp to 25lb, Tench and Bream to 8lb, Perch to 4lb 8oz , Roach and Rudd to 2lb, the odd big eel and the occasional trout and gudgeon. £5 for a day ticket in glorious peaceful Cornish countryside.
Bussow Reservoir
Bussow Reservoir, St Ives, Cornwall, can be found on the road to Zennor leaving St Ives.
SWW coarse fishery, with carp, tench, bream, roach, rudd, perch, crucian carp, eels. Open all year, 24 hour day. Permits £3.50 from Newtown Angling Centre, Newtown, Germoe, Penzance Tel: 01736 763721.
Sea angling St Ives
A 2 hour fishing trip using traditional hand lines (as used by professionals) in and around St. Ives Bay. All equipment supplied, keep all you catch. Great fun for all. Depending on the weather, there are also trips around St Ives Bay on the tradiitional Cornish lugger, The Dolly Pentreath. Alternatively, The Golden Princess takes you on a 2 hour trip past Godrevy Lighthouse to Hells Mouth.
