New Year in St Ives
The New Years Eve celebrations in St Ives have a national reputation for being one of the places to see in the New Year. Fancy dress is not compulsory but most people make an effort and perhaps you may look out of place without fancy dress. The streets of St Ives are closed for traffic, the harbour itself is heaving with people and if the tide is out ,then everyone overspills onto the beach. When the bells ring out the fireworks start a dramatic display over the beaches and town of St Ives.
St Ives May Day
St Ives May Day the ancient customs of the town are celebrated with a weekend of concerts, guided walks and exhibitions culminating on May Day itself with parades, maypole dancing, the unique Pee Whip(!) and the choosing of the May King and Queen.
