Hawkes Point is at the eastern end of the delightful Carbis Bay beach, at low tide you can reach Porth Kidney Sands, a quiet and evocative beach that is still part of Carbis Bay. Porthkidney Sands stretches as far as the Hayle Estuary and is backed by sand dunes and unspoilt by buildings. The views across the beach to Godrevy create panoramic images which have been the inspiration of many artists including John Miller, this is a walk not to be missed by any visitor to the area.
The coastal path from Carbis Bay taken on the seaward side of Hawkes Point will reveal the old miners' steps which you can take down to Porth Kidney Sands at low tide, alternatively take the Headland Road coast path from Carbis Bay to get a higher perspective of these dramatic views.
