But be sure to try out some of the many excellent pubs and restaurants in St. Ives and Carbis Bay. Leave the car at Beach Retreat, Compass Point and take the little train that takes you on a scenic coastal ride into St. Ives within a few minutes. This is reputed to be one of the most picturesque rail journeys in England, its a pity it only lasts 3 minutes from Carbis Bay to St Ives. The walk is just as enjoyable and takes about 20 minutes and has stunning views across St Ives Bay.
