Carbis Bay
With its golden sands and turquoise sea, Carbis Bay is recognised as one of the most beautiful bays in the world. It is often selected as the perfect base for those wanting to relax and get away from it all but have the convenience of being just minutes away from the hustle and bustle of St. Ives. With its Blue Flag accredited beach, Carbis Bay is a popular choice for a luxury self-catering holiday with many of our special escapes boasting dramatic sea views. The coastal railway links St Ives to Penzance and is perhaps one of the most scenic rail journeys in the UK. The rail journey from Carbis Bay to St Ives takes about 4 minutes. It also connects to St Erth and Penzance to mainline UK stations including Paddington, London.
"Aquamarine - we were astonished at the standard of this luxury apartment, the place was spotless and extremely well equipped including the latest Hi Tech IPad which we found really useful during our stay.... Preloaded with pages of local information. Another thoughtful touch was the welcome pack waiting for us which included a beautiful cream tea, chocolates, wine and even a pint of milk. The views were stunning and good weather made breakfast on the balcony a memory we will never forget. With the railway station 20 yards from the apartment, we found ourselves using the train service on several occasions with prices quite reasonable. To be honest, whist it was our intention to 'eat out' most evenings, we enjoyed the comfort and the views of Aquamarine unbeatable so we ended up buying local produce and preparing our evening meals in the extremely well equipped kitchen. We really enjoyed our stay in that apartment and would definitely consider a revisit in the future."
P. Stacey"We received a lovely welcome when we arrived at Aquamarine and this year us we were unable to walk into St Ives we found the train very useful at £2 return better than car parking there and plenty of eating places .We had a lovely holiday and hope to return same time next year"
D. Bush"We loved our stay in Aquamarine, well equipped pretty and really clean and fresh looking. The Alba in St Ives is a great place to dine"
M. Jasper"The apartment was beautiful with everything possible thought of. Top marks for the owners, top marks for the admin. By the way the free firework displays from the beach were rather wonderful! "
S. Bentall"As usual (this is our fourth time to Aquamarine) the holiday was brilliant. The representative was already at the apartment to meet us. The standard of the apartment was excellent, very clean, well provisioned and equipped including some new features like the IPad. We walked into St Ives along the coast path which was invigorating. Visited Tate Britain and had afternoon tea in their tea shop. Other places we visited included Mousehole - very quaint, Kynance Cove at the Lizard and Port Issac, home of Doc Martin. Our last day was beautiful. We walked around the cliffs into the next bay because the tide was very low. We also had a barbecue on the beach in the evening."
D. Wright"Carbis Bay is a beautiful destination and Aquamarine was stunning. The place was beautifully clean and very, very well equipped. the views from the living room and bedrom were stunning-a really lovely way to switch off. We enjoyed many lovely walks along the cliffs-some were quite hard going but exhilarating. Restaurants visited: Porthmeor Beach cafe-excellent breakfast and tapas and very friendly service,On-Shore- friendly service lovely seafood, Carbis Bay Hotel-stunning views, Blas Burgers-superb!, Our whole holiday experience from booking to arrival and departure was excellent - I would reccommend it to anyone."
S. Dixon"My wife, two daughters and I had a wonderful week in Carbis Bay. I was impressed with Carbis Bay Holidays' administration, "Aquamarine" was superb, their attention to detail to cover every need for a luxury stay was noticeable. I-pads, PS2 and Xbox's for the kids and comfort and space for the adults. The view from the balcony over the bay and seeing the seals swimming was a moment to remember. The cleanliness of the apartment was excellent and the welcome basket was a classy touch. With regard to walks, the Carbis Bay to St Ives coastal path walk was wonderful, with some stop and stare moments at the landscape along the way and good exercise for walking off the lunch from the Porthminster Beach cafe lunch at St Ives for the return journey if you felt fit enough. There is lunch to be enjoyed in Mousehole just half an hour away followed by a visit to St Michaels Mount just 4 miles away or if you venture to Lands End 20 miles away, try to find Sennen Cove just a mile before, much quieter, enjoyable and just as stunning.
Restaurant wise - The Badger Inn at Lelant a mile away did a hearty Sunday Carvery, whilst the local Italian, La Casita and Becks Fish and Chips in Carbis Bay are to be thoroughly recommended. St Ives is a mile and a quarter away, 3 mins by train that runs from 2 minute walk away or a 25 minute coastal walk has a take your pick supply of restaurants for taste and variety."
"Aquamarine is a delightful, property of quality– probably one of the best situated ones on the Carbis Beach area. The accommodation was excellent. The choice of entertainment within the apartment was more than we could have asked for. The Housekeeping & Cleaning service providers were very helpful."
K. & E. Martin"We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at the Aquamarine Apartment which was second to none. Everything was perfect, could not have wished for better weather. The location was excellent, we made full use of the train, travelling to Penzance and several trips to St Ives where we enjoyed meals at Pedn-olva, The Beach and Hobblers Restaurants. We would certainly visit again, if only for the wonderful view."
P. & B. Morris"Aquamarine was all that we had hoped for. It was spotless and really well equipped, the best apartment we have ever rented anywhere. The views from the lounge and the master bedroom are superb. The cliff scenery is stunning and we saw seals, gannets and fulmars and some lovely wild flowers. We leave Aquamarine and the St Ives area with some very happy memories and hope to return one day! "
