With its golden sands and turquoise sea, Carbis Bay is recognised as one of the most beautiful bays in the world. With its Blue Flag accredited beach, Carbis Bay is a popular choice for a luxury self-catering holiday with many of our special escapes boasting dramatic sea views. The coastal railway links St Ives to Penzance and is perhaps one of the most scenic rail journeys in the UK. The rail journey from Carbis Bay to St Ives takes about 4 minutes. It also connects to St Erth and Penzance to mainline UK stations including Paddington, London.
"We found Castaways excellent- we chose to come by train and the proximity of the appartment to the station was a bonus. awe walked to Hayle along the coast path(returning by bus and train)- lunch at the deli cafe Scarlet in Lelant was a real find.We also would recommend walking to Porthminster Beach cafe- fantastic food and an easy walk back even in the dark. The other restaurant we would highly recommend would be Alba on the harbour."
A. Hopper"We loved our visit to Carbis Bay and had a great time, Castaways was fantastic, we felt immediately and home – and what a great view to wake up to. I enjoyed the modern appliances in the kitchen which made cooking on the times we ate in very easy. We ate at the Seafood Café a few times for lunch and an evening, the carvery at the Badger is also good value and very tasty."
M. Dolby"Our holiday at 'Castaways' was great. The apartment was spacious and well furnished. The admin, welcome and cleanliness of the apartment were all of a high standard. The views were wonderful and the short walk to the beach was 'therapeutic'. We enjoyed a couple of lovely meals at La Casita. "
L. & D. Davis"Yes, my family and I did enjoy a wonderful holiday at Castaways stunning view, a wonderful location and well presented. Being close to the beach was a priority with a young family and this certainly proved a bonus for those tired little legs at the end of a long day digging and paddling!. Everything we needed was to hand."
The feeling of security on the site also helped to make it a home away from home and helped us to drop into "holiday mode" very quickly.

"The apartment was clean, modern, tidy and had stunning views. With towns like St Ives only a short walk or drive away, it was in the perfect place. Thanks so much for making the holiday a very relaxing one! "
K. & S. Adams"We had another fabulous holiday in Carbis Bay. The apartment was absolutely super and we had a really comfortable 3 weeks! Many thanks to the team for a very clean apartment. Our favourite restaurants are the Alba, the Porthgwidden Cafe in St Ives (great fish) and the Gurnards Head in Zennnor I definitely recommend an evening performance at the Minack Theatre. Favourite places to visit include Heligan and Cotehele. Favourite walks: St Just and walk to Levant Mine and Beam Engine along the coast path. It is also a nice walk from St Just to Gwenver Sands. Mousehole to Lamorna Cove is another favourite. The Lamorna Pottery does lovely cream teas and the Ship Inn in Mousehole has good beer and pub food. We are coming back again next year!!!! "
N. Parks"We had an absolutely fabulous holiday - the apartment was amazing, so comfortable and when you have a small child and aren't out all of the time, particularly in the evening, that was really great for us. It was also very safe for our daughter as there was no risk of her being near the road when we were sitting outside. The views were stunning, the privacy was excellent and it was extremely quiet and peaceful which was just lovely."
M. McKerrell, Oban"Castaways was a new apartment for us with a Friday handover. The travelling on a Friday was much easier. The apartment was of the usual high standard but the decor & cleanliness particularly impressed my wife. The wine & biscuits were a very nice touch."
