Chy an Pol is a beautiful, luxury family holiday home located in the Cornish seaside town of St Ives, Cornwall. Living Area
Upon entering Chy an Pol you are greeted into a spacious hallway where a desk area can be found along with a cloakroom. Solid oak flooring is laid throughout the ground floor with neutral, fresh décor and a wonderful collection of original artwork to appreciate.
The living area can be accessed from either the hallway or kitchen and is a relaxing area in which to take in the panoramic views, whatever the weather. Double French doors open out onto the terrace, allowing the fresh salty sea air to flow in. Seating is provided on the 3 seater black leather sofa, contemporary leather and chrome armchair with footstall and three leather tub chairs. Gas central heating is provided throughout, but for those colder evenings, why not light the modern gas pebble fire? This room certainly does not lack natural light, but spot lights and a floor lamp are available.
A great entertainments package is provided, with a 40” LCD television with SKY TV including full sports package, DVD player with selection of DVD’s and complimentary Wi-Fi. A good selection of board games, maps and books along with the property welcome guide are also provided.
Dining Area
The dining area can be found within the kitchen. A bespoke beech table with two matching benches comfortably seat eight. If you fancy trying out the wonderful local cuisine which is on offer, we certainly recommend The Cornish Deli for lunch (they also provide yummy picnics) and The Alba for a special evening out.
The kitchen at Chy an Pol offers ample storage within the fitted beech wood units, along with plenty of prep space on the black granite effect worktop. It has some lovely focal points, including a glass brick wall and blue and purple splash back tiles. It is certainly well equipped with all the utensils you could require, including a great outdoor picnic set, sandwich toaster and handheld blender. Neff integrated appliances are provided including a microwave, washing machine, dishwasher, fridge and freezer, but the piece de resistance is the 6 burner range with double oven and Smeg extractor hood, which is sure to be of use if cooking for a full house. A window overlooks the front courtyard with a wooden venetian blind for privacy.
Bedroom One with En-suite
The master bedroom is a lovely bright and airy room with an en-suite shower room and double French doors which lead out onto your own private decked balcony. The far reaching sea views form here are spectacular, making it a great space to sit back and relax. This room really does have a seaside feel about it with white wooden furnishings and hues of pale blues and greens in the soft interiors. A comfortable king size bed is beautifully made for your arrival, with ample storage found within the fitted wardrobes, bedside tables and additional storage units. An LCD digital television with built-in DVD is provided along with an alarm clock radio, hair dryer and matching bedside lamps.
Bedroom Two
The second bedroom is located to the front of the property, gaining lots of light in the afternoons. A king size bed is provided, with built in dressing table and hanging space and bedside tables with wicker basket storage. Matching reading lamps and a mirror can be found, along with hardwood flooring which is laid throughout all of the bedrooms.
Bedroom Three
This single room is perfectly situated to enjoy a quiet night’s sleep. Storage is provided within the built-in dressing table and hanging space. A window overlooks the front of the property, with a mirror and reading lamp also provided.
Bedroom Four with En-suite
The magnificent, spacious fourth bedroom can be found on the second floor and boasts a fabulous en-suite bathroom. Double patio doors open out onto a balcony which boasts the best views of the entire property, looking right across the bay from The Island to Porthminster Point. Two Velux windows allow further light to stream into the eaves. Another king size bed is provided and the seaside theme continues with white furniture, including bedside tables with wicker basket storage, double wardrobe and additional wicker basket storage unit. Matching bedside lamps are provided along with a useful futon chair which converts into an additional bed, suitable for an extra child.
A set of bed linen and a bath sheet, bath towel, and hand towel are provided for each guest.
Bathroom One
The family bathroom can be found on the first floor next to bedroom two. Beautifully appointed with a double end bath with rainfall shower overhead, separate handheld shower unit and glass shower screen. A wash basin, WC, backlit mirror and two glass shelves are also provided. Mosaic ceramic tiles adorn the walls with pale tile effect flooring.
Bathroom Two
The master bedroom en-suite boasts a large walk-in rainfall shower, WC, wash basin, backlit vanity mirror, glass shelving, and a glass brick feature wall. Mosaic ceramic tiles also adorn the walls with pale tile effect flooring.
Bathroom Three
The fourth bedroom provides a fabulous large en-suite bathroom, comprising of a double end bath with rainfall shower overhead, WC, wash basin, backlit mirror, glass shelving, large heated chrome towel rail, two storage cupboards and Velux windows which look to the front of the property. Pale ceramic wall tiles and tile effect flooring add to the luxurious, airy feel that this bathroom exudes.
A further WC and wash basin can be found on the ground floor. Oak flooring, glass shelf, vanity mirror and venetian blind can be found in this luxury cloakroom.
A bath sheet, bath towel and hand towel are provided for each guest, together with complimentary White Company toiletries.
Rear Terrace
The rear terrace is an absolutely fabulous large private area, which is some what sort after in St Ives. Separated into three sections, walk out onto the paved patio from the lounge French doors, an ideal place to enjoy the Weber BBQ which is provided for guests use. Steps then lead you down to an additional paved and decking area. The views from the rear garden are simply beautiful, looking right across from The Island to Godrevy Lighthouse and the golden stretch of Gwithian beach across the bay. The sun can be enjoyed throughout the morning and into the afternoon, making it a great spot for an alfresco breakfast or lunch. Two loungers, rattan chairs and two bistro sets are provided, perfect for sitting back and relaxing.
Front Courtyard
Paved steps lead you down from the two off street parking spaces to the front door and suntrap courtyard. This is a peaceful little area which gains the sun throughout the afternoon and into the evening. A bench seating two people is provided, making for a great spot to enjoy a quiet read.
Balconies
Both bedrooms one and four, offer fabulous decked balconies which overlook one of the most beautiful bays in the World.
