This beautifully-crafted, bespoke kitchen by George Robinson is built in ash with granite surfaces and makes cooking at Fernhill Lodge a pleasure. Outside

Balcony

The picture windows and patio doors create a light and airy living area which leads out to a spectacular covered balcony which is a fantastic private space for alfresco dining and just enjoying the panoramic outlook. You can enjoy use of the balcony late into the evening when exterior lighting of Fernhill Lodge causes this luxury self catering accommodation to be seen to "glow" on the hillside at night.

Although completely safe, we do recommend that all children are accompanied at all times. The balcony is directly above the sub-tropical garden and sun-terrace, which also has a discreet storage area with boogie boards, buckets, spades and beach games for both children and adults alike! Fernhill Lodge has up to three car parking spaces behind its private gated drive.

Garden

The garden has been recently landscaped to incorporate a large lawned area with sun loungers and a large paved area for entertaining. Enjoy lazy barbecues on long summer evenings or challenge your fellow-guests to a game of boule on the lawn. There is plentiful outdoor seating for you to enjoy the panoramic views across and around St Ives Bay to Godrevy Lighthouse. The sun loungers and table and chairs to seat 8 are perfectly placed to benefit from the sunshine, ideal for an escape from city-life, gatherings of friends or families or time out to gain some inspiration for writing and sketching. St Ives is close by and is brimming with art galleries including the Tate and the Hepworth. Writers such as Daphne du Maurier, Rosamunde Pilcher and John Betjeman made Cornwall their home and drew deeply from their surroundings to write truly inspiring pieces of literature.

"We thoroughly enjoyed our stay, Fernhill Lodge is a fantastic house and the view truly stunning. All the rooms were very clean and the property is extremely well appointed, a real home from home. We would recommend the Kingfisher Fish & Chip Restaurant in St. Ives - nothing fancy, just clean and really nice food at reasonable prices.  Overall we had a lovely time. We would rate Fernhill Lodge as being amongst the best accommodation we have stayed at within the UK"

"First of all we were all absolutely thrilled with the house, from the cleanliness to the extra (beer) fridge to the built in grass slide in the garden which was hours of fun for the kids!  I don't think we did anything out of the ordinary as far as day trips etc, St Ives on the train, St Michael's Mount, Padstow etc.  All the information provided to get us to local amenities was clear and extremely useful so I don't think we came away thinking it was lacking."

M. Wheatley

"As usual we had a fabulous holiday in Carbis Bay and at Fernhill Lodge. We love the house and literally have to tear ourselves away at the end of the week.  The light, space, views and general comfort make it second to none ."

Train to St Ives was much better than driving and parking. The Bean Inn (Veggie) restaurant 1 min walk from house was really good (visited twice). 40 min drive was National trust Glendurgan Garden TR11 5JZ, fantastic gardens, a maze and a beach."

"We can honestly say on behalf of both families that we had a fantastic time and were “blown away” by the spectacular views from the balcony at Fernhill Lodge. We defy anyone not to instantly relax once greeted by the view across the bay. We are sure that spring and summer would be a different and exciting experience. As for the accommodation the size and facilities were first class and the attention to detail, such as kitchen utensils and technology were always surprising. Fernhill Lodge is also a great location to explore the southern tip of Cornwall such as Lands End, Penzance, Truro etc.   We certainly had a wonderful end to 2010 at Fernhill Lodge and preferred to entertain ourselves at the Lodge especially as we were able to see many local firework displays at midnight. Thank you for your attention to detail for our stay and we would have no hesitation in returning in the future and to recommending to others the value of your offering"

"Wood, steel, glass - all are polished to perfection.  And that view of St Ives Bay is a wow!  This modern architect-designed house has been fitted to a super-high standard and the technology is swishly modern, from the surround sound and the TVs with Sky to the toasty ash floors and the iPod docks by the bed."

"We had a lovely time in Carbis Bay at Fernhill Lodge, the property was out of this world and it was lovely staying in such a luxurious place. The admin was great and the property was very clean."

S. Kinsella, Herfordshire

"We had a wonderful fortnight at Fernhill Lodge, even though the weather was very changeable: sunny days to rain, sleet and snow.  But Fernhill with its wonderful window gives you an ever changing view across an amazing bay. On wet, cold, snowy days, it was great to come back to a warm, light and comfortable house, with all the amenities. Log Gas Fire, Sky TV, Broadband internet.  Didn't want to go home!"

D. Springall, Wiltshire

"We have a brilliant time in Fernhill Lodge: Everything was completely up to scratch; Accommodation was superb; The administration was faultless; Standard of accommodation exceeded expectation; The cleanliness of the property was of a high standard.

We were lucky to meet 2 representatives of Carbis Holidays and both were extremely pleasant, helpful and courteous."

"We all had a fabulous time at "Fernhill". The house was fantastic, the facilities, cleanliness etc were outstanding - best we've ever had in rented accommodation. We would definitely think about coming back. A lot of thought went into setting the house up as a rental."
