Guest Comments

"As usual, we thoroughly enjoyed our stay at Genoa, the apartment was spotless and well equipped with everything that we needed for our stay. Had a lovely trip on the open topped bus, we also had a brilliant outing to the Geevor tin mine. Found the whole place fascinating. Had a lovely lunch and cream tea at the Tea House on the Wharf in St Ives."
P. Tice

"We stayed at Genoa and were delighted with the five star accommodation and look forward to visiting again soon.  On to places to eat.  We could thoroughly recommend The Firehouse in Fore Street, St Ives and Cafe Pasta on the harbourside.  Two places that did wonderful full english breakfasts were On Shore and The Ocean Grill on the harbourside.  I loved my coffee at Costa in Tesco (Carbis Bay) and the view from there must be the nicest of any Costa in the country.  If anyone wants to experience a wonderful pasty i would say Rowes in Penzance or Helston are just gorgeous.  Places we really enjoyed were the views from Cape Cornwall and Lamorna Cove, Mullion Cove and the Minnack Theatre."

"We thoroughly enjoyed our holiday in Genoa. The standard of furnishings and the cleanliness was second to none. All the little extras you provide made this a perfect holiday apartment. The views from various rooms were amazing. We could not fault anything and hope to come back again soon. We enjoyed a lovely seafood meal at the Mermaid on the last night and put on a few pounds sampling the Cornish pasties and cream teas. Afternoon tea at the Carbis Bay Hotel was a real treat. Carbis Bay beach was lovely and we spent a lot of time in St. Ives just exploring. A visit to Mousehole was also a highlight, absolutely beautiful. Can't wait to come back."

"Genoa is lovely, clean and very well equipped and furnished, we did have a problem with the television and the toaster but this was very quickly resolved. We had very enjoyable meals at the Onshore and The Beach in St Ives and also at La Casa Romano in Carbis Bay. We also ate at the Tyringham Arms exceptional value."

"Having been visiting St Ives for 50+ years I have to say that this was the nicest accommodation I have experienced. I have stayed at a number of popular hotels in St Ives but this was by far a better experience.  The whole process from start to finish was straight forward and uncomplicated, many times over the years I have experienced less than satisfactory accommodation and service, this was not the case with Genoa our expectations were exceeded from the minute we met your representative, you seem to have this process spot on.  We like the coffee shop in St Ives ‘The Hub’ for snacks and coffee, also the fish bar next door did amazing fish and chips…we always make a trip to the Tinners Arms at Zennor for lunch and that didn’t disappoint. We also had dinner a couple of times at The Badger Inn in Lelant, which had excellent food and service.  We would definitely look to book Genoa again for future trips to Carbis Bay…hopefully not in the too distant future!"

"Everything about the holiday at Genoa was exceptional. The standard of the accommodation and cleanliness was excellent, the greet/handover was efficient and the holiday more than met our expectations.  What we particularly liked was the extra’s i.e. the cream tea. the pint of milk etc. We visited the Seal & Otter Sanctuary and Lappa Valley Steam Railway with our two year old granddaughter and although a little expensive for adults under 5’s are free and she loved every minute at both these venues. The Wyevale Garden Centre is an excellent coffee stop and we ate out twice at the La Casita, the food and service here was excellent and they were very accommodating to our granddaughter. The Eden Project is well worth a visit although quite expensivem, we used our Tesco Clubcard vouchers and for four adults (one of which was a concession i.e. over 60) it only cost £28 – good tip for prospective visitors."

"Everything about our stay at Genoa was absolutely brilliant.  The accommodation and services were second to none, and the property was lovely and clean when we arrived.  February was a lovely time to visit Carbis Bay, a time when many people probably wouldn't even consider visiting.  The walk from Carbis Bay to St Ives is well worth taking, with some lovely views along the way.  We can certainly recommend dining at the Porthminster Cafe' on Porthminster Beach. It is very popular, so booking is recommended.  Also the Sea Food Cafe in Fore Street is well worth a visit, again booking is recommended. The Carbis Bay Hotel restaurant is also well worth a visit."

"We had a great time at Genoa. The apartment was perfect: spotlessly clean, bright and modern decor, fantastic view and v well equipped. Tesco is so convenient too! The children loved having their own rooms and my husband and I especially enjoyed the filter coffee machine!! We did a lovely walk into St Ives and beyond via the coastal path and spent a little time on Carbis Bay Beach although we did head up the coast to Newquay for the surfing too.  Had a meal at La Cassita but enjoyed out Mexican meal at The Mex in St Ives most of all."

L. Stoves

"We have been to Cornwall on a number of occasions, but never to Carbis Bay. It was enjoyable and quite peaceful saying that it is only a short distance from St Ives. The kids enjoyed the beach at both CB and Hayle. We ate at Alba and the Sea Food Restaurant on Fore St in St Ives a couple of times and both were excellent. The one trip we all enjoyed was the Tate, it was really good and so child friendly."

B. White

"Just to let you know we had a great time whilst staying at Genoa in Carbis Bay last week. Genoa was superb, well equipped, clean, tastefully furnished like a home away from home. Carbis Bay is a superb location, very relaxing and in reach of all local facilities. We hope to return soon!"

"We had a very enjoyable time staying at Genoa, well equipped, clean and conveniently located. A couple of places that we could recommend are. The Alba restaurant in St Ives. and Lamorna Pottery for a cream tea. Delicious."

P. Ice

"We loved the apartment (Genoa), the views were great and it was a very convenient place for us, in fact we didn't use the car once during the week we were there.  If we wanted to go to St Ives we walked along the coastal path.  We also walked along the path in the opposite direction to Porth Kidney Beach and Tesco of course was less than a 5 minute walk away."

E. Wood, Kent

"We had an excellent holiday, Genoa was a lovely apartment with stunning views over the sea. The accomodation was clean and well presented with all the extras you could want. We were met by friendly staff on arrival."

P. Buckle, Buckinghamshire

"Just a quick note to say, that Genoa was the best apartment we have ever hired. From the moment we arrived we found every aspect of the apartment to be exceptional. Each room, whether the en suite, the bedrooms, the bathroom the lounge or the kitchen we found to be beautifully decorated and equipped. With stunning views from three of the four rooms the apartment was a fantastic centre for our holiday."

D. Jackson, Staffordshire

"The accommodation was very nice, clean and to a very high specification.  The children were very pleased with the provision of the Playstation and Wii, they kept them entertained first thing in the morning whilst we had a lie in!!"

K. Cuerden, Huddersfield

"Genoa is a fantastic, super cool, well equipped, luxury apartment and proved even better than the web-site suggested it might be. We loved the views, the comfort and the quality of the fit-out. The kids loved the Nintendo Wii and finally found a computer game that they could play together. The apartment is ultra stylish and was an absolute joy to come back to every day. Every detail had been thoughtfully considered, and every appliance was of the highest quality and in immaculate condition."
