Guest Comments

"We thoroughly enjoyed our last minute short break at Lighthouse View. The accommodation was of an excellent standard, very clean and we would be pleased to stay there again. Carbis Bay is ideally placed for visiting St Ives, either by the lovely coastal walk or two minute journey on the train, no need to use the car. The Seafood Café is very popular and booking is recommended to avoid disappointment. We took time to travel 30 minutes to beautiful Sennen Cove before returning home on the last day. Although we are relatively local we really felt like we had been away on holiday."

"We went to the Alba, Porthwidden Beach Cafe, fish & chips from Becks & The Old Quay House plus pasties. Walks was the usual walk into St Ives & around the island, plus doing a circuit around Carbis Bay. A walk around Godrevy is a must as well. We have stayed in various of your properties in Carbis Bay but we found LV to be the most enjoyable from the moment you kick off your shoes it feels like home. We really enjoyed the Festival at the Lifeboat Inn & the Guildhall."

"Our stay at Lighthouse View was wonderful - extremely clean, spacious, very well equipped and most of all brilliant location. Had some great meals in St Ives especially Blas which we visited about 3 times"

"We thoroughly enjoyed our holiday in Lighthouse View. The weather was largely kind to us unlike many other parts of the country. We really appreciated being in the quiet of Carbis bay with our own parking space and enjoyed many walks along the road into St Ives and return by train, avoiding the longer hills on the way back. We enjoyed the town, the biz, the views, the shops, galleries and restaurants. We enjoyed all the beach cafe / bars, the Beach and Ocean View Restaurants on Shore Road and particularly liked the Seafood Cafe on Fore Street. We also enjoyed visits to Pendeen Beam Engine, Minnack Theatre, St Michaels Mount, Mousehole, Port Isaac and Padstow.  We loved our first visit to St Ives and prefer modern accommodation. Lighthouse View was ideal for a couple such as us"

"Lighthouse View was an excellent apartment, very clean, excellent facilities and after a very long journey, warm and welcoming. the instructions were easy to find your way around the appliances and there was plenty of crockery, etc which was in really good condition.Plenty of games/books etc in the apartment too "

"We had a fantastic time at 'The Lighthouse'. The accomodation was excellent."

D. Jackson

"We enjoyed our holiday and regarded the accommodation at Lighthouse View as being the best we have experienced. The location was ideal, Parking and driving has always been a problem in St.Ives, so Carbis Bay was more than ideal, with the 'one-stop' train journey into the town. The Carbis Bay Beach is beautiful, we used it several times, enjoying a late drink in the hotel on one occasion. The Tesco supermarket was handy, to stock up with basics, but we also ate out, and we visited 'Blas' in St Ives three times, the perfect antidote to chain burger eateries! Fish and Chips were also excellent at the Porthminster Cafe. We drove out to St Michaels Mount on the one rainy day during the holiday, Kynance Cove/The Lizard just a 40 minute drive away. Our son is keen on BMX biking, so we took him to Mount Hawke, whilst we had a coffee in St Agnes. We also visited the Lost Gardens of Heligan, and found some great art galleries in Penzance."

K. Harley

"We had a fantastic time, Lighthouse View is the most luxurious holiday accommodation we have stayed in. It was very well equipped and it is nice to find a travel cot and highchair as standard instead of a chargeable extra. We made full use of the train into St.Ives daily and didn't touch the car for most of the week."

C. Mulholland

"All aspects of the holiday were 1st class. The Lighthouse View apartment was beautifully appointed & spotlessly clean. We couldn't fault it & would definitely stay there again. It's position was also perfect for catching the train into St. Ives. There are so many lovely places to visit in the area it's impossible to pick out any one. Just try & see as much as possible, nothing will disappoint! For that special meal try the Porthminster Beach Cafe."

M. Brewer
"We had a great time at Lighthouse View thank you - the accommodation exceeded our expectations in terms of the facilities, finish and attention to detail were concerned. We booked the holiday only a few days before arriving, but all the admin had completed with no problems. As to the places that we visited, we really enjoyed Botallack's tin mining heritage (and a seriously hot chicken curry in the Queen's Arms there), Mousehole, St Michaels Mount, Church Cove and Healeys Cider Farm. The walk to St Ives was very rewarding and hitting Padstow's May Day celebrations on the way to Carbis Bay was a real bonus."

"We had a lovely holiday and thought our apartment was great - spacious, bright, good location and comfortable.  The apartment was very well equipped and spotlessly clean on arrival.  There were extra touches that made it special - little library of books, few DVDs (not that we had time to watch anything as the weather was so good). Places to Recommend - the Porthminster Cafe in St Ives was fab for both food or going for a drink (we did both).  The coastal walk between Carbis Bay and St Ives was lovely and not too difficult (we managed it with a pram, though there are a few steps in a couple of places which might make it difficult for the elderly).  The train between Carbis Bay and St Ives was great too and very quick with nice views.  Having Coffee/Lunch in the conservatory at the Carbis Bay hotel had a fab view over the bay and the food was good.  We enjoyed going to Lizard Point, the most southerly point, rather than Lands End as less commercial."

"We LOVED Lighthouse View and everything about it. First class. Thanks so much. I actually have roots in St. Ives, we enjoyed the usual things, the Island, the Harbor and everything else there. We took a one day trip and toured the castle at St. Michael's Mount. Well worth the trip."

P. Pascoe

"We thought that overall Lighthouse View was excellent, everything was provided that we could possibly need. The TV in the living room was excellent, the kitchen was fully equipped & the power shower in the bathroom was fabulous. Lighthouse View was light & spacious & had a relaxed feel about it. All the rooms were clean & fresh & looked like they had been newly decorated. We enjoyed the lovely views across the sea to the lighthouse from the living room & main bedroom. With regards to eating out we had excellent fish & chips to take away from the Porthminster Beach Cafe. In fact we thought that they were some of the best fish & chips that we have ever eaten (better than Rick Stein). We ate them on the tables provided on Porthminster beach, which was a fabulous location. We also had good food at the Badger pub, Lelant. The carvery was very good value & the crab salad was filled with loads of fresh crab & was excellent. Reen Manor riding stables at Perranporth did amazing beach rides, which I can thoroughly recommend & were well worth the £50 for two hours, so don't be put off by the price. Also we thought Perranporth beach was fabulous & can also recommend the pub the Watering Hole which was right on the beach. In fact we thought Perranporth was a really lovely seaside town & was one of our favourite places that we visited. We can also recommend the boat trip to see the seals from St Ives. The cost was £9 per person & lasted just over an hour. The seals were lovely, very friendly & kept swimming up to the boat, it was an amazing experience. We can also recommend the boat trip from Truro to Falmouth & back again. It was a pity we didn't have good weather the day we went, but it didn't spoil our enjoyment of the amazing views from the boat or the trip. The price was £12 per person return. Overall we had a lovely holiday, the weather was excellent, we thought that Cornwall was beautiful & every day there was a different surprise. The Cornish people were very friendly & helpful. We thought that Carbis Bay was a beautiful location & an ideal place to stay as it was a central location to get to most places in Cornwall."

"This was the second time that we have stayed at Lighthouse View and we were again very impressed with the apartment.  We were very lucky with the weather and were able to enjoy time on Carbis Bay beach ( the water is so lovely and  clear) and browsing in St Ives around the harbour and in the wide variety of shops.   We went out for several excellent meals: Porthminster Beach Cafe, Alba and Alfresco and can highly recommend all three restaurants for lunch or dinner.     Also, Beck’s fish and chips is not to be missed!"

P. Pert

"We had an amazing time in Lighthouse view. My son described the week as “the best holiday ever”. The place itself was spotless, and had everything you could ever need, even down to the buckets and spades in the outside shed. The welcome “manual” was great too. As for restaurants, we spend most of the time with picnics on the beach/eating in. We did try Blas Burgerworks- the burgers and ethos of the place are fantastic."

Just to say that this was our third stay at Lighthouse View and we had a lovely stay as usual.  Our daughter loves the apartment and never wants to leave! Thanks for a great stay and customer service as usual!

"The location was excellent, the flat was immaculate, the weather was surprisingly good. It's refreshing when all expectations for our holiday are exceeded. We are really keen to go again next year - the only question is whether we will need a bigger property as I am trying to persuade my sister and her family to come with us."

K. Clark, Cheshire

"Lighthouse View was a lovely holiday home - we will definitely return.  We found everything from booking to arriving all excellent.  The property was very tidy and clean and as advertised.  A lot of care had obviously gone into it and we found the instruction manuals very helpful too."

C. Ditchfield, Bath

"Myself and my two daughters had a wonderful time at Lighthouse View.  The apartment was bright cosy clean and warm. We did not have the use of the car so the fact that the railway station was on our doorstep was excellent as we love St Ives but do not wish to stay in the Town."

P. Clarke, West Midlands

"Lighthouse View is a delightful apartment - beautifully and appropriately decorated for the seaside with lots of thoughtful extras available for our use.    It rained quite a bit when we were there but it didn't seem to matter as we could stay in what felt like a home and relax.   We have stayed in many self-catering accommodations over the years and we would like to say congratulations to the owners as this was the best yet!"
