"We had a thoroughly enjoyable week's stay at Moonstone. The apartment was very comfortable with excellent facilities. "

"We had a wonderful stay at Moonstone, Gwel Marten Apartments. Fabulous views of Carbis Bay beach and St Ives Harbour from the big bay window. The apartment itself was of very high standard. it was clean, tidy and very welcoming on arrival and contained everything required. We walked several times into St Ives via the coastal path located at the bottom of the hill down from the apartment. Bit steep at the start, but breathtaking views on the walk itself, which is about a mile and a half long and the beaches were very clean and water very clear. The train line is just below the apartment and as well as being an enjoyable return trip back to the apartment (instead of climbing the steep hill back up on return!!) was a bargain at £1 each! Train leaves just before the hour and returns just after the half hour. St Ives itself is a lovely place and you could spend hours there just walking and visiting the galleries and little shops. We went on a boat trip to Seal Island, which we enjoyed very much. Lovely views again of the coastline on the way out to the island and we saw seals once we got there!!  There are many lovely restaurants and you are spoiled for choice really. I don't recall the names of the ones we did eat at, but they were very nice. We had a take away from Becks (?) fish and chip restaurant just at the top of the road from the apartment which was brilliant and we had a Chinese take away delivered from Hong Kong Kitchen (?), which was excellent and only £1.50 charge for delivery to the apartment. We also had a very nice meal at the Italian Restaurant at the far end of the harbour."

"A first class holiday at Moonstone, both my expectations and those of my Dad were exceeded! Every attention to detail within the apartment had been taken care of – we really appreciated the high quality of everything. From crockery to bed-linen everything was of exceptional quality. The cleanliness of the apartment was also to a high standard. The views from the apartment were ‘out of this world’ & on our first night we were able to enjoy an unexpected firework display on the beach – fantastic! On our final morning we also saw a dolphin – we didn’t even need to use the binoculars."

"I loved Moonstone from the second i walked in, the location was to die for and the view second to none. The whole place was spotless, the Kitchen was amazingly well stocked and so gorgeous i loved it. The bathroom blew me away with that lovely bath and a large shower as well, the heated towel rail a real bonus as often its so difficult to dry your towels.  The bed was the most comfortable i had ever slept in when away from home and it is clear there has been so much attention to detail when fitting out this flat. The space in all the rooms was wonderful and as i said before so clean and had a really cared for feel to the place.  The Firehouse in Fore Street St. Ives did gorgeous food and the Fish and Chip place on water front near the life boat station was also gorgeous. I would definitely recommend anyone to walk into St. Ives via the coast path from Carbis Bay, that walk is really a must if you don't mind a steep hill down into the bay and a steep climb up again. Also park at Lelant church and walk down to Porth Kidney beach is beautiful on a nice day and check out the chocolate factory at Mullion, you wont be disappointed."

"We had a wonderful time staying at Moonstone.  The apartment certainly met our expectations, was very clean and had everything one could need.  We visited St. Ives many times and walked there on foot along the cliff footpath.  We went to St. Michael's Mount , The Lost Garden's of Heligan are truly inspiring and have so much to see.  Mousehole was a special place as was the Minack Theatre (warm clothing a must).  We also did the coast to coast cycle ride, renting bicicles from Elm Farm. The route takes you on a nine mile ride through old mining areas, beautiful fields, preservation areas, an impressive viaduct and eventualy to the beautiful inlet village of Devoran. Among the restaurants and bars we enjoyed were St. Andrew's Bistro, The Firehouse Grill, The Balcony and the Coast Cafe, all in St. Ives.  A gallery to visit is Starboard Gallery, Tregenna Hill, St. Ives.  The artist is in residence and there is also very nice jewelry for sale. "

"The apartment, Moonstone, was fabulous.  It was well equipped with everything of an excellent standard.  A joy to return to after a day out. Facilities are so good that we did not eat out much, preferring easy and leisurely meals in, enjoying the space and the view.  Becks is a good fish and chip shop, 7 mins walk for takeaways.  The Tinners Arms, Zennor, provided a great meal, sitting outside on a glorious sunny evening.  We enjoyed Carbis Bay beach, close to the apartment.  We also explored St Ives thoroughly, easily accessible by train from near Moonstone.  Enjoyed the Tate and Hepworth Galleries there, and enjoyed our visit to Penzance and other parts of the Penwith peninsula."

M. Lewis

"Moonstone (and especially the view over the beach) certainly met our expectations. We loved the Seafood Cafe in St. Ives. "

"We had a great time in Moonstone and Carbis Bay. The standard of accommodation was excellent. And the sun was shining all week! On the walk front, we went to Sennen Cove and did the walk to Lands End to avoid all the touristy bit. Much better way to arrive!"

D. Strebel
"We very much enjoyed our week at Moonstone,  we loved the deco, so clean and everything we needed. The weather was kind to us too-only one wet day! We loved the ensuite and the bathroom. Becks fish and chip shop is great-best ever! The Rajpoot Indian is the best Curry house!. We have been holidaying in Carbis bay now for about 14 years now and will continue to do so. The view from this apartment makes the holiday! Would be quite happy to just sit and watch the view! For shopping Penzance is handy. The gift shops in St Ives are brilliant. The wholemeal pasty in the Cornish bakehouse is the best ever! Ferrel's almond macaroons -gorgeous! A visit to Mousehole is a must and we love Porthcurno and Kynance cove. The fireworks at Lands end were great. Been to Flambards on the pasta and the Seal Sanctuary -both great."

"We arrived at Moonstone, we were rendered speechless when we saw the view from the lounge window. absolutely stunning, as was the whole appartment.  We couldnt wait to get back to the apartment some days, we spotted dolphins early one morning when we were on the beach very near to the shore. it made our day."

Mrs I. Gant

"Standard of accommodation was superb, cleanliness was 2nd to none. Hard to comment further really!  We had a great holiday.  We spent most days on the beach, the pizza at the beach was cracking – especially for my birthday! Ice cream pretty daily too! Becks fish & chip shop was great for our first night there.  with 2 small children we didn’t venture out to many other restaurants.  We enjoyed the Soft Play just over the cross roads and also Paradise Park too."

N. & J. Innes

"Moonstone was as excellent as ever – a really enjoyable holiday with wall-to-wall sunshine every day! "

M Golledge

Everything was lovely at Moonstone, I don't think we made any discoveries when it comes to places to go; we loved Porthminster Beach Cafe. We loved the walk along the cliff path and down the steps to Porth Kidney beach at low tide. It was virtually deserted.  The walk in the opposite direction, a delightful way to approach St.Ives. Loved Moonstone... loved St.Ives.

J Baker
