The coastal railway links St Ives to Penzance and is perhaps one of the most scenic rail journeys in the UK. The rail journey from Carbis Bay to St Ives takes about 4 minutes. It also connects to St Erth and Penzance to mainline UK stations including Paddington, London.

March 2013 - Work has commenced once again on the development, with the remaining windows being installed and internal works taking place.  Minimal disturbance is expected from now on but progress will be monitored and up-dated over the coming weeks.

October 2012 - Work has come to a standstill on the development and we are advised that no further building is planned for the foreseeable future.

Guest Comments

"We had a wonderful break at Sand Waves apartment and would dearly like to visit again, maybe even later this year."

"We had a perfect week in Sand Waves,  everything we wanted and more. Clean, light and airy and all mod cons. We walked in to St Ives most days and took advantage of the local Fish and Chips (and Kelly's Ice Cream). We would highly recomend 'Splosh' as a place for people to visit (especially honey mooners). It's a basic concept of painting your own pottery but it is lots of fun and a great way to make a special keepsake to take home. We would also highly recommend Porthminster Cafe for food if guests want to splash out for a special occasion. We had the most amazing meal there - I still haven't stopped banging on about how gorgeous the Dexter Steak was. There are so many great things that it would take all day to list but again a massive thank you to all involved."

"The holiday at Sand Waves was a success and we had a great time, the accommodation was great, it was the best place I've ever stopped in"

"Sand Waves was more than we expected which was a delightful surprise as so often what you see is not what you get! All in all we have enjoyed the whole experience. "

"Sand Waves was the most wonderful appartment. It was exactly as depicted on the website and was a delight from the moment we walked in. No attention to detail was spared, and the location was perfect, we loved waking up to the sound of the sea which made for a lovely tranquil break. "

A. Deeming

"Sand Waves and especially the location was superb and we thoroughly enjoyed our holiday.  Alfresco for dinner, Porthmeor Beach Cafe for tapas, Porthminster Beach Cafe for dinner. A walk along the coastal path to St Ives and Lelant and the train back, or vice versa. A trip to St Michael's Mount. A journey on the top deck of the open topped double decker. A visit to the Barbara Hepworth Gallery - especially the garden. Checking out all of the small galleries and shops in St Ives' cobbled streets. Enjoying the local ale, cider and wine! "

L. Taylor

"We had a lovely holiday and thought Sand Waves was wonderful, it was immaculate, very tastefully decorated and of course with fantastic views. All the touches that Carbis Bay Holidays provided were lovely too - eg. the chocolate Easter egg, cream tea etc etc. The apartment was very well equipped too....even the DVDs were good!  We love Godrevy beach...both for rock-pooling, playing (for the children) and seal watching. The seal watching point over the hill at Godrevy is a must, there were at least 40 seals on the beach when we went there!   We had a great boat trip on the Dolly Pentreath - very fast and the girls loved it. (they are 9 and nearly 5 yrs old).  We had a lovely meal at Onshore where the staff were really helpful and friendly."

K. Fairweather

"Sand Waves is beautifully fitted out and has everything you could wish for with the added advantage of a double length decked patio with a vista over the golden bay and crystal blue sea. We ate outside every day of our stay both breakfast and evening meal and this was mid February! You can see the sun rise and sun set from the patio and can enjoy the ever changing colours over the bay. The flat sits on the coast path so you can easily walk traffic free and safe into St Ives or enjoy a short train ride hugging the water all the way back if you have over indulged at lunch time and we always tend to do this when visiting one of our favourite “celebration” restaurants The Seafood Café in the middle of town."

R. & D. Langham

"Sand Waves is an absolutely beautiful apartment and was exactly what I had wanted for our break. The views were terrific, the flat was exceptional and everything was spotless. We spent most of the days exploring Cornwall, next time to spend more time relaxing in the accommodation and less time driving ! "
