Carbis Bay
With its golden sands and turquoise sea, Carbis Bay is recognised as one of the most beautiful bays in the world. It is often selected as the perfect base for those wanting to relax and get away from it all but have the convenience of being just minutes away from the hustle and bustle of St. Ives. With its Blue Flag accredited beach, Carbis Bay is a popular choice for a luxury self-catering holiday with many of our special escapes boasting dramatic sea views. The coastal railway links St Ives to Penzance and is perhaps one of the most scenic rail journeys in the UK. The rail journey from Carbis Bay to St Ives takes about 4 minutes. It also connects to St Erth and Penzance to mainline UK stations including Paddington, London.
"We had a great time at Surf Side for this New Year with my wife and child we will be back next year for sure. Our accommodation was lovely it says it's 4 star rated but I would say more 5 star beds very comfortable, everywhere so clean and tidy, can not fault it in any way thanks so much it was an excellent stay."
J. Vassollo"We found Surf Side to be clean and very welcoming. The flat was well, and attractively, decorated and we had plenty of space for storage and relaxing. Well situated for the cliff walk into St. Ives and Carbis Bay thus avoiding having to find a parking place, and being so close to Tesco is a real bonus. Our favourite restaurant was The Waves and the Cornish Arms was very handy for a cooling pint. We didn't travel far but Godrevy lighthouse was our favourite, and the closeness of the Steeple Nature Reserve is great for walkers and the views from the monument are superb."
B. Pearson"Had a lovely week in the apartment. We have a very small well behaved dog which is why we chose to stay at Surf Side, in a brilliant spot though for walking to St Ives or the branch line train. Our favourite eats out are defo the cafe on Porthmeor Beach and to a lesser extent the beach cafe at Porthminster."
M. McGuran"We had a wonderful few days staying at Surf Side at Carbis Bay. The cottage was absolutely perfect. Beautiful view of the bay and a lovely walk over the coastal path down to St Ives. Superb views. A truly beautiful area - Beaches were so clean and the water so clear. We couldn't praise the accommodation enough. We would especially recommend The Hobblers Restaurant and the Gourmet Fish & Chip Restaurant down in St Ives on The Wharf and the Caffe Pasta on the harbour front, along with the Chinese take away mentioned in your information guide. "
D. Davies"We really enjoyed our break in Surf Side, Carbis Bay and the accommodation was brilliant and exceeded all of our expectations."
I. White"The property was great, very nice and the location was amazing, The flat was very neat and tidy. The local pub the cornishman was very reasonably priced and st ives was superb as usual i will definately book again."
"The accommodation was really clean and had lots of great touches such as music and DVD. Location perfect for the beach which was beautiful. We had lovely walks on Carbis Bay and Lelant cove. And St Ives just minutes down the road. I'd reccommend Surf Side to friends. Thank you for a lovely holiday."
N.Trujillo"We had a lovely stay, the accommodation was really nice & exactly as it appeared on the website. We enjoyed walking to the local beaches, St Ives is much nearer than it looks on the map and it was a really pleasant walk along the coastal path. We started out looking for a place where we could eat and take dogs (always something of a challenge), and we found the Queens Arms at Botallack, I really cannot recommend them too highly. We had the convenience of a supermarket literally next door and being unaware of its presence until you turn the corner to visit it. I suppose the best way to sum things up is to say that Surf Side is now on our very select list of places to revisit."
