“My partner & I had an amazing week.”

The apartment was spotlessly clean and was like home from home. Upon arrival we were stunned by the fantastic sea views. We loved it so much that we have booked up again for a week in May 2025. Thank you for letting us stay in your fabulous home ❤️☺️

The property

Huers Hide is the perfect retreat for couples who wish to unwind ‘at home’ in beautiful coastal surroundings. Relax in the conservatory, outside on the deck or just lie in bed watching the shifting sands as the tides drift across the almost deserted Porthkidney Sands; lookout for shoals of pilchards boiling on the surface of the sea, or seals playing in the surf at Hawkes Point or pods of Dolphins feeding in the distance. With the Cornish Coastal Path just a few steps from the front door it is ideal for walkers and with the West Cornwall Golf Club, and the ‘foodie’ haven of St. Ives, just minutes away by car, train or foot, Huers Hide is a destination in itself. Highlights - Huers Hide is located in Sea Urchin Apartments in the Hawkes Point area of Carbis Bay and is on the elevated ground floor. - Regret no children, smoking, vaping or pets. - Panoramic sea views from the lounge, deck, conservatory and bedroom. Entertainment - Complimentary wireless internet from BT Infinity. - 38" flat screen TV with Freeview and DVD - Large selection of DVD's CDs - Selection of games, puzzles, books, O.S. Maps and information on the local area. Access - Access to Huers Hide is from the car park, down one flight of 7 stairs. - Detailed access statement available on request. Parking - Private allocated parking for one car is provided in the main carpark area. Living Area Lounge With views through the double doors and the conservatory to the bay beyond, this room offers a tranquil haven in which to curl up and relax on the double settee; read a book, listen to music, or watch a DVD. A back-lit corner unit houses some quirky findings from various holidays, whilst the cupboards under the TV are full of DVDs, CDs, puzzles and games for those ‘Cornish Mizzle’ days. There is even a sewing machine if you’re feeling creative. A clothes airer and a tower fan are stored in the cupboard to the right of the TV. Conservatory This is the perfect place for those leisurely breakfasts, long summer lunches and romantic dinners that are the key ingredients of a food-lovers holiday. With outstanding views across the bay to Godrevy lighthouse and even as far as Trevose Head it is also the ideal room to put your feet up and enjoy a restful afternoon with a gentle breeze blowing through the two sets of double doors that open out onto views of the gardens below and the adjacent private deck. With double doors leading from the lounge, and to the deck, a flexible table that can easily be altered to suit the occasion – small for a drink or snack, larger for a full meal; another comfy double settee and a relaxing chair. The powerful telescope (kept in the more stable environment of the Lounge) will help track those elusive dolphins and a distant group of people near Godrevy may even indicate the presence of a colony of seals. Hallway Here you will find a built-in heated cupboard for the sun loungers, torch, shopping bags, picnic set and umbrellas; a shoe cupboard and a well stocked book case. Kitchen Kitchen The light, sunny, spacious kitchen has everything you should need to make meal times an easy, stress free, enjoyable time. There is a fan oven with integrated grill and 4 ring gas hob with overhead extractor fan; a microwave; large integrated fridge / freezer and a built in dishwasher. A toaster, blender and Tassimo coffee machine are also provided along with numerous utensils, baking dishes, saucepans and a fish kettle. There is an assortment of cookery books in the lounge cupboard which should help inspire creative ways to enjoy the superb local produce. Sometimes, however it is nice to take a break from the kitchen and the abundant selection of restaurants in St Ives come highly recommended – check out the Welcome Guide, or see below, for more information. Utility The washing machine is sympathetically housed in the bathroom, with cupboards above for the iron, clothes pegs etc. Bedroom With the same glorious sea views as from the conservatory you could stay in the king-size bed all day. Side tables and 3 double built-in wardrobes with drawers discreetly accommodate everything you have brought on holiday with you. The middle cupboard contains another 38” flat screen TV. There is also a full height mirror cupboard with adjacent shelves where the hairdryer is kept. To add to your comfort, you will also each find a pair of slippers. To one side of the bedroom there is a study area where you will find the wireless internet hub, and a telephone which accepts incoming and emergency outgoing calls. A selection of stationery, ‘odds & sods’, various encyclopaedias, dictionaries, maps and assorted tourist information can also be found here. A “tilt and slide” door leads to the private deck – a lovely place to soak up the sun. This door can be locked tilted in to provide a fresh air supply. Bathroom The bathroom is fully tiled with a white toilet and matching spa bath with overhead Mira shower and glass screen. There is a rail above the bath to hang dripping coats if you wish to enjoy a bracing walk in the pouring rain – or you are unlucky enough to have been caught in a downpour; and a heated towel rail to warm the selection of lovely towels, also provided. The built in basin has a demisting mirror above and 4 cupboards beneath offer plenty of storage - the location of a dual voltage shaver point, a couple of toothbrush chargers, a hot water bottle, a magnifying shaving mirror and the first-aid kit. A large tiled work-surface allows for plenty of ‘bits and pieces’ and the washing machine is sympathetically housed with cupboards above for the iron, clothes pegs etc. A selection of towels are provided for each guest. Outside Private Deck Huers Hide not only has the advantage of a lovely bright conservatory but also the benefit of a private deck accessed from both the conservatory and the bedroom – The addition of a built-in cupboard with a granite shelf, it is the ideal place to enjoy a BBQ, soak up the sun and make the most of the lovely view across St Ives Bay. Sun loungers are provided. The cupboard is an ideal place to store muddy walking boots and Wellingtons. Communal Gardens Guests have unlimited use of the large well stocked communal gardens that can be reached via steps down from the deck or from the car park. There are a couple of picnic tables, barbecue areas and grassy corners in which you can relax and soak up the view. A washing line to the side of the gardens is also provided for the use of everyone at Sea Urchin. Do take care in the garden as it slopes and can be slippery. Parking Guests have the benefit of a space in the private car park although there is also ample room to unload/load directly outside the front door to Huers Hide.
