“It was a lovely place to stay, however, there were a few issues the washer dryer did not work it had a fault code when we tried to use it and ended up with very wet clothes.”
The TV in both bedrooms did not work. There was a very damp smell in the small bedroom due to water ingress by the window there was a rolled up towel to collect the water. The toilet seat was falling off. And lastly the hot tub cover needs replacing it was so heavy and water logged I could not lift it off.
Thank you very much for your feedback on my property. Unfortunately as you did not bring all the points you raise in your review to the attention of the agent during your stay, we were not given the opportunity to deal with them.
I understand you checked into the property late on Saturday afternoon and used the washing machine the next morning. The washing machine fault was reported to me on Monday and I immediately made the offer to reimburse you should you wish to dry your clothes using a local laundry facility. Unfortunately white goods do develop faults on occasion just as they do in our own homes and we face the same challenges finding an engineer to attend immediately, especially on a Sunday. There is currently only one engineer in the entire St Ives area, he was unable to attend within the timeframe and it was not possible to purchase and install a new washing machine during the remainder of your short break.
I am not aware of any issues with the televisions and wonder if the issues you experienced could have been weather related as they have both been fine.
Due to the unprecedented amount of rain and high winds we experienced over the winter months, some water had penetrated the balcony above the second bedroom which was why the towel was placed on the window sill as a precaution. However, when the housekeeper attended the property after your departure, this was completely dry and she did not report a smell. The balcony has since been re tiled and the issue rectified.
I am unaware of any issue with the toilet seat and in regard to the hot tub cover it had begun to absorb water making it heavier to lift. Thank you for drawing my attention to this as it has also been replaced. These issues were not reported to the agent during your stay and I understand you chose not to use the complimentary laundry facility offered either.
I do hope you will return in the future and enjoy the property in better weather.
