We have stayed at many places in Cornwall but this was the best apartment, best location and very comfortable!

Beautiful house with fantastic views of the sea.

Excellent location, so close to Carbis Bay Station; a 3 min train ride from St Ives. Everything was very clean and comfortable. The sofa in the living room is not the most comfortable but it is functional. Well equipped spacious kitchen with everything we needed. Lovely bathrooms and great showers. So lovely to have the hot tub too. The information pack needs updating as some of the information in the folder is clearly out of date now. We loved our stay and would definitely return to Atlantic Watch 8.

We had a great week in this property.

It had everything you need for a comfortable stay and the appliances and furnishings were high quality. Only 2 small niggles, the hot tub can be seen by people walking past the property, it would have been better if the glass frosting could have been higher up to give a little more privacy. Also having never come across locked wheelie bins before the bin men did not empty as I put the bin out locked in the information book it would have been a good idea to state 'put unlocked wheelie bin out Thursday evening. Having said that the information folder was very helpful. Overall a fantastic property in a fantastic location and would use it again in the future.

We loved our stay and hope to return.

The only slight thought was heated towel rails would have been great.

Excellent accommodation only downside and not owners fault is access to beach is not good for people with mobility problems so was unable to enjoy the beach or get to train station View out of window and while in hot tub is breath-taking though.

We have stayed at the property 3 years running, came in 2023 for our honeymoon and loved it so came back 2024 and again this year.

Upon arrival and after we unpacked after a long drive we wanted to relax in thr hot tub (as thats the main reason we booked this property in the first place) Only one of the jets were working and as it was a weekend I could not get hold of anyone as the phone lines were also down. Despite numerous messages there was no response so I called on the following Monday and managed to speak to someone only to be told no-one would be out until Tuesday which is thr normal maintenance day for the property. So 3 days with no hot tub. The pool chap sorted it (in a fashion) and got a couple more working sort of but was not working correctly, came again as part needed would not arrive and removed the part so that all jets worked for remainder of our stay (2 days!) To have paid the amount we did and only have the hot tub working for 2 days is not acceptable and despite numerous emails to complain I have received no response. Since we stayed in June it is now September I don't think I am being unreasonable at my annoyance at not even having one call or email addressing this complaint. Diabolical customer service and I will not be dropping this until I receive satisfactory response and refund for not having use of a functional hot tub as stated in the property description

For the second year running and 3rd booking with Sykes we have had a great stay and lovely accommodation.

Amazing views and great location. That said however, all 3 stays need TLC. The latest 8 Atlantic Watch as the previous had v dirty flooring. So much so we bought a speed mop and wipes. We used 24 wipes and the flooring was still dirty. Exactly the same on the 2 properties last year. Also little things like the wine fridge not working and a light socket exposed and dangerous were apparent. Some of the bath towels also were stained in red in certain areas. When u are paying so much things should be perfect to be honest. I feel maybe the housekeeping should be addressed more as really no excuses for dirty floors.

Accommodation location perfect and as expected having previously stayed at a neighbouring property.

Really shocked to walk in and find 2 large laundry bags in the kitchen, either dirty from previous stay or clean ready for the next stay?! Cleanliness of the kitchen and utensils/microwave was way below the 4.5* rating and price we paid. We had to clean what we were going to use before hand. Kitchen cupboards as stated in a previous review still had crumbs in. Could do with some maintenance especially light switches, coat hooks in the kitchen, extract vents. Living lamp didn’t work. Would be really useful to have more hooks in Bathroom/bedroom doors for towels/robes and hooks on patio area for robes. Was surprised at no welcome pack other than pint of milk. There was an empty bag on the table? Was this ours to use? Not being picky ( other than the cleanliness) just observations. On the whole enjoyed our stay and would return in the future.

This is a great home in a great location.

The hot tub is great and gets cleaned reguarly. Cleanliness is average, eg under the sofa isnt clean and skirting boards. Things need moving out to clean, with it being a beach property. The owner does provide beach or hot tub towels ( well 4 colourful towels on top of the white ones) which is great, as it says these arent provided. There were also basics like tea, coffee, milk, also washing powder to use the washing machine which was very helpful. There is also a body board and a wind breaker in the cupboard. Before we stayed, I contacted carbis bay holidays, as number 8 altantic watch does not come up online for online shops etc. Their response lacked effort and helpfulness and i really had to push for them to look into it. I would rather book direct with a holiday owner next time, who might care more.

Absolutely wonderful stay - the property was as described on the website and was beautifully furnished making it feel really comfortable and homely.

Fantastic location with wonderful sea views from the lounge and the main bedroom. We found no issues with the cleanliness of the property, although we did notice some debris on one of the cupboard shelves that may indicate only the external surfaces are routinely cleaned. Do make sure you read the notes from previous guests if you want to save time looking for the secret cutlery drawer! Small improvements could be to make the second bedroom more suitable for adults (we were two friends on holiday so there was one adult in each room) - e.g. zip link beds so that the twin beds could be made into a double on request, a full-height wardrobe (and some coat hangers for adult-sized clothes - there was just one children's coat hanger provided), hooks on the back on the bathroom and bedroom doors would also have been useful.

The view was lovely and the hot tub was a nice touch however cleanliness and comfort was appalling.

The fridge hadn’t been cleaned with food debris inside kitchen cabinets. The kitchen doors had sticky food stains and hair inside the utensil draw. The bed pillows were of poor quality. I was very disappointed with having travelled a 6 hour journey to findi the apartment wasn’t adequately cleaned. It is not acceptable particularly when we have paid such a premium price to stay!

The property was lovely the views stunning and the cleanliness amazing, we had such a relaxing week here would highly recommended to anyone.

The owners have put so much thought and detail into everything you would need for your stay and they have got it spot on, upon arrival we found the owners had left us a pint of milk in fridge some coffee sachets, teabags and sugar, first thing I done was put the kettle on and then relaxed on the sofa admiring the view. The hot tub is a bonus to this property and is maintained 3 times a week. We would definitely return as it’s worth every penny.

Had a wonderful week at 8 Atlantic Watch located at Carbis Bay.

The property was extremely clean and had everything you needed. The property is very spacious with 2 large bedrooms to the lower floor, with the master leading out to the hot tub which was a nice way to end the day. The views from the lounge are amazing, over looking the bay and over to St. Ives. This is a great location to visit various parts of Cornwall and we would definitely recommend this accommodation.

Firstly the property is in a beautiful location just above Carbis Bay with amazing views.

We know the area and most of the properties in the area very well as have been visiting Carbis Bay for for 20 years. We did have issues: The first evening we put the dishwasher on to find it was leaking - looked as if this was not the first time. Managed to stop the dishwasher straight away. There was blockage remover under the sink but we decided not to fiddle and contacted the company first thing on Monday. Spoke to Sykes at 10.43 on Monday to report the dishwasher, broken toilet seat in main bathroom and issues with general cleanliness They took details, put me through to property services ( told them the same thing) and was informed someone would be out today to resolve. Nobody turned up all week to resolve - there was someone in the property at all times so we did not miss them. I then left a note for the following guests. Cleanliness was not what I expected with a 5* rating. Issues :- Filthy handrail going downstairs ( cleaned myself and photographed the cloth afterwards as I could not believe how dirty it was) Bedding - hairs on main bedroom duvet - looked like blood stains on one of the pillows and the bottom sheet looked grainy and not welcoming. Pillows had seen their day. Second bedroom - bathroom cabinet full of hairs and sweet wrappers and sweets left on floor Window sills dirty - cleaned a couple of them myself, dirty hand marks around both patio doors Mould on back of curtains in mainstream bedroom and dirty patio door sills in master bedroom and lounge Main bathroom toilet seat broken The main bathroom sink had been chipped ( for the owners) Missing glasses and cups etc in kitchen A bulb needs changing above bed in master bedroom The photos on your site are not how the property is furnished so needs to be updated. We love visiting the area and did not let if spoil our stay, however when you are paying good money you expect this to be reflected in the standards of cleanliness and service.

We had a lovely stay, the apartment was absolutely beautiful, with the most amazing view of the sea and Carbis Bay.

The owners of this little gem have got everything 100% spot on. We will certainly be back from what we would call a home from home. A fabulous week. And a massive thank you again to the owners with the little touches dotted around the house.

The property itself was just as last year, clean but I did notice it not as clean as last time.

While cooking, I noticed the top of the extractor hood (the glass bit) was thick with grease which I did clean as much as I could but there were bits towards the back i couldn't reach. Also we noticed there were powder like spots all over the master bedroom and kitchen floor which we had to clean before we did anything once we arrived. We have booked again for next year :)

Lovely relaxing holiday.

Great location and train 5 minute walk and £2 return to St Ives. Hot tub wonderful. Some of the fittings have been changed so pics could do with updating. Definitely would return .

Wow wow wow- fabulous from start to finish.

The standard of the apartment was very high spec, it has everything you need for a relaxing stay. The location is perfect with sea views, only 2 minutes from the train station and a short walk to the beach. We will absolutely be looking to book again. If you want to escape and truly relax this is the perfect place to do it.

The property was absolutely brilliant, so modern and comfortable, incredible views.

The only negative I would say is it’s described as ‘child friendly’ so a stairgate option should be available. The stairs being so accessible in the hallway for a 1 year old wasn’t ideal. We would 100% re-book this holiday home again though. Really was fantastic.

It was immaculately styled and such a tranquil space that really felt like home from home. The location and facilities were excellent. The only things that would have made it better for us and other guests: - coat hooks in the kitchen by the front door or first floor bathroom. - a new can opener (the one in the property doesn’t seem to work unfortunately) - some wd40 on the bedroom sliding doors lock- the key and locking mechanism were difficult to lock. - recycling bin

Amazing stay, fantastic apartment with a great location.

Lovely and spacious and immaculately decorated and presented. Some beautiful touches from the hosts (the biscuits were gorgeous ha) biscuits and treats here and there. Would highly recommend to everyone. 1 suggestion would be some lighting for the stairs leading to the front door, got very dark and was a little scary for my wife. The ones there weren’t working.

An amazing villa in a perfect location.

Beautiful views and tastfully decorated. A couple of items need some tlc (hottub lid needs replacing as no handles to lift and an additional chair in the lounge window would be excellent) otherwise a perfect stay amd will return.

Our stay at Atlantic Watch 8 was fantastic.

The property has the most spectacular view of Carbis Bay. The property is well equipped and very comfortable. The local bus and train is very efficient and means trips to St Ives are made very easy without taking cars. The local Carbis Bay restaurants are very good as well.

Lovely could not have had anywhere better for our honeymoon.

So chilled and relaxing and the views are amazing. We have booked for our honeymoon next year

Lovely location.

However, there was scheduled overnight road/rail maintenance work, directly outside the property, which was very disruptive for two nights. This started at 10 p.m. and was very noisy and meant we had two nights with very little sleep! Unfortunately we didn’t receive any notification that this was going to happen and would have not booked our stay for this week if we had known.

Wonderful time, apartment very comfortable with exception of settee.

We enjoyed exploring and not once had to use our car. Easy to walk to beach, catch a bus around the area or use the train. Even hired ebikes. Will definitely return!

Stunning views especially from the hot tub. Could not wish for anything better. Train ride to St Ives a must, so quick and cheap.

Amazing views. Lovely property. Only 2 slightly negative points to mention. The sofa was not the comfiest and the issue with the sky box and the pin was a tad annoying. I understand why you don’t want to share the pin but we couldn’t watch any programs we wanted to see until after 9pm. There were a few films we wanted to see and also just some more age appropriate tv which we could not watch. We didn’t have the kids with us so this was frustrating to say the least. We had a lazy day planned on Sunday and ended up going out. It won’t stop us returning but I hope this can be rectified.

The property is first class very comfortable and spacious.

The view is amazing could just sit and look at it all day but then I would miss what is on offer outside. The walk to st Ives on the coastal walk while a wee bit challenging in places is well worth the effort. Cornwall has so much to offer well worth the 500 mile drive from Scotland.

Wonderful accommodation, with the most amazing sea views and the perfect location, being a stones throw from the beautiful Carbis Bay beach.

Felt like such a home from home, especially with all the thoughtful touches throughout the villa. The hot tub was a bonus, which we loved. I can’t really rate the accommodation highly enough. We felt very sad to leave it and we will definitely be back. Thank you!

We did enjoy our holiday at the apartment.

It was very comfortable and I think freshly decorated as it was different to the photographs. The views were amazing with some beautiful sunsets. It was really close to the train station which was only a couple of pounds return into St ives and took about 3 mins. There were also really lovely coastal walks from the apartment. So there were a lot of positives. However we were really disappointed with a lot of aspects and felt the description of the apartment is misleading and the photographs really do need updating. The first major thing we noticed on walking into the apartment was that the living room is a lot smaller by a good 5ft than the photographs show. This appears to be because an extra room with bunkbeds has been added. I don't know if this room is just for the owners to use but the door was open and the beds had ,what appeared to be, used bedcovers just rolled back on the ends of the beds. (Which really isn't acceptable considering the cost of the apartment). The living room has not only shrunk but is decorated differently and has some furniture missing, probably because it no longer fits in. The second major thing was just how close to the road the apartment is. This isnt mentioned at all and the photographs showing the view of the outside from the apartment are cleverly taken so you aren't aware there is a road there at all. It states in the description there is a private balcony, well yes it is private in that it is for your use only but in no way do you have any privacy when you are on it. To begin with it is overlooked by the apartment next door. But the main issue we found is because the balcony is on the ground floor, when you sit at the table, anyone coming round the corner and walking past(and a lot do walking down to the beach) they are so close you could reach out and touch them and you do feel like you are in a bit of a goldfish bowl. We imagined having breakfast on the balcony each morning but after experiencing this the first morning, we never sat out there again as we might as well have been sitting outside a cafe in St ives. Now this was just an issue for us I'm sure this wouldn't bother a lot of people but you need to be aware of it before booking so that you've got the choice. Had we been aware of this we would probably not have chosen this apartment. Obviously the hot tub is also on the balcony so getting in and out of it you were on full view of anyone walking or driving past however once in the tub it was relatively private. And as a positive, the hot tub is checked by a very nice man 3 times a week who was really helpful. The balcony is definately not spacious as quoted in the description! Because of the proximity to the road, lying in the bed in the master bedroom, you can see inside the cab of any vans driving past. You could also see people walking past on the opposite side of the road so you couldn't walk around the bedroom in the nuddy, of course you could drawer the curtains but then that defeats the object of having the lovely views to look at(of the sea not of us in the nuddy). On a positive note, although the road is so close it is not a busy road and is especially quiet at night so doesn't disturb your sleep. I don't know if it would be busier at the height of summer. We stayed in May. The trains also run past quite close but that didn't really bother us but it might some people. The apartment appeared to be clean especially the kitchen and the bathroom. However I was quite surprised that the hand rail on the stairs leading to the bedrooms was so dirty that I had to buy some wipes and clean it. I also had to clean the bathroom door which looked grubby and had black marks on it. I wouldn't normally do this in a holiday place but felt because of the current times it should really have been cleaned as It was really noticeable. The windows in the main bedroom also had hand marks on them however I didn't clean these as I didnt want to spend my holiday doing housekeeping considering the amount of money we had paid for the apartment. There were a couple of other niggles. Outside the apartment there were a number of paint cans just left outside the kitchen window. There is a dishwasher and tablets were provided but there was no washing up liquid or tea towels. There are only 4 cups so if you don't want to put a dishwasher on to clean a couple of cups you may want to bring some washing up liquid and a tea towel or you will have to go out and buy some like we did! There are also no oven gloves provided so you couldn't get anything out of the hot oven. We ended up having to use one of the bathroom towels We had one day of quite heavy rain so decided to go back to the apartment to watch a film. However everything we tried to watch required a pin. We gave up on films in the end and decided to watch Agatha Raisin thinking surely that was relatively safe but even this was pin protected. We rang Sykes and spoke to a really lovely helpful lady who said she would ring someone to get the pin for us. However, she came back to us and said whoever she had spoken to wouldnt give the pin number out and we would have to wait until 9 oclock in the evening to watch anything other than children's films.!!!!!!! Even she thought it was ridiculous. Again for the amount of money we paid for this flat and the fact that sky TV and movies are mentioned in the description, this really isnt acceptable. Finally, if two couples are sharing this apartment, whoever gets the main bedroom is definately getting the best deal with the views and balcony. The second bedroom only has a small window which looks out onto a brick wall and next door's very tiny patio area. We didn't use this room so it didn't affect us but I feel people should be aware of it before booking. I have marked the ratings down only because of the above issues I dont really like to do this but I want other people to be aware of them so they have an informed choice and know exactly what they are booking as I feel this is an expensive apartment and had we been aware of some of the above we would not have booked it.

The property was beyond all expectations.

It was clean, very homely, well decorated throughout, facilities were great and the view.. wow I can’t even put into words. The apartment is in a great spot; a couple of minutes walk from the beach, minutes from local amenities and a thirty second walk from the train station for local trains to St Ives etc. We stayed here for our honeymoon and it did not let us down. We have already been looking at rebooking. We were left vouchers for Cornish pasties which we used and they were amazing! Definitely recommend this property!!

The only thing that was wrong was that the voucher left for discount on the Warrens pasties was out of date and so could not be used in the shop

The property made my 50th birthday very special.

The highlight was certainly the HOT Tub. The apartment was absolutely beautiful.

We had a lovely stay at 8 Atlantic Watch.

The views from bedroom and lounge are beautiful, the place was clean and warm when we arrived. We had a job finding the cutlery at first, (under the chopping board) but Sean at Sykes gave us a clue where to find them (thank you Sean). The beds were really comfy, we all came back feeling really relaxed and would have no hesitation to recommend 8 Atlantic Watch to anyone wanting a luxurious break away.

Stunning property in a stunning location.

Not faults, but there were a couple of things that we wanted to feed back on. We found the oversized sofa in the main room to be very low and difficult to settle into and get back up from. Also the double bed is very low and we found it quite uncomfortable - the mattress was too soft us. We were hoping that after a long drive from Essex we would be able to use the hot tub on the evening of arrival. The tub was a key reason for booking tnis apartment. We know that tubs can take hours to warm up after being refilled and the information in the property advises that it would be available for use on arrival. Unfortunately the 27 degree temperature at 5pm meant that we were unable to use the tub until the next day which was disappointing. Finally - we found it a bit odd that the apartment sleeps 6 but the table in the kitchen is only big enough for 4 and only 4 chairs are provided. This could be an issue if we were to re-booked with a larger group. Otherwise we really enjoyed our stay and have already recommended the property to friends.

The location of the house is beautiful and it is lovely and bright inside.

We have looked forward to this break and spent a little more than normal on this property for a treat after all the lockdowns. The house is really lovely and comfortable but feel it needs a little TLC and a rewrite/update of the description on the booking site. The following points could be addressed for future guests: The living room has shrunk by more than 2 feet and the lovely rocking chair described in the listing isn’t there. I’d bought a new book to enjoy there! There is now a 3rd small bunk bed room in the space that has been taken which isn’t mentioned in the listing. The hot tub was set at 27 when we got in the first night so had to abandon immediately until it heated up the next day as it was tepid. We’d looked forward to that after travelling all day from Manchester. It was main feature of the property we wanted use of all holiday. Also the waterproof speaker mentioned in the house book was missing. The boiler timer control doesn’t work so the house was boiling for 2 days. The heating is either on full or off. Fortunately it was mild so we left it off after it cooled down. We have the same boiler and replaced the MT10 timer 3 times before overriding it with a Nest Thermostat for £70. Main bathroom - toilet seat not fixed after last review. Not ideal when recovering from a rib injury to have a wobbly seat. Hubby would have fixed it himself if he’d got a screwdriver with him! The lid on the pedal bin fell off on first use. Inexpensive to replace. Bathmat was falling to bits on the back. En-suite - plug in sink doesn’t work Wine cooler - repeatedly followed instructions to set but it kept defaulting to 27 and warming contents. Perhaps the housekeeper could set things up for arrivals? Laundry bags listed on Covid instructions non existent for dirty sheets and towels. Looked round the house twice and just left in separate piles. Don’t get me wrong - the house is amazing and we had a lovely holiday! Would we stay there again YES. Carbis Bay is beautiful and the views are to die for! The coast path is on the doorstep too! It’s nearly perfect

My husband and I stayed in the original property back in 2013 for our little minimoon.

When I booked this property, I didn't realise it was next door to where we stayed originally so it was a fantastic surprise to return here! The property itself was absolutely stunning, with fab facilities! There were a couple of very minor maintenance issues...The toilet seat in the main bathroom was very wobbly, and the bathroom sink plug doesn't work (allowing water to drain). Like I said, very minor and didn't affect the stay! Can't wait to return!

The property was situated in a wonderful location with magnificent views.

It was clean, comfortable and very well equipped. Downside - property information booklet needs updating - I drove 3 miles to the notified recycling centre to be told that it had been closed for a considerable time.

The standard of the accommodation was first class and in a fantastic location with beautiful views across Carbis bay.

It was beautifully decorated with lovely finishing touches. We will definitely be recommending Atlantic Watch 8 and Carbis Bay Holidays to friends and family and hope to return again soon.
