Gennaker

We had a lovely stay at Gennaker, the property was a good size for my family of 6.

It was clean, tidy and had everything we needed even though we didn’t use most of it eg. dish washer, washing machine etc. The property is in a great location with everything you need around it and within walking distance to the supermarket, beach and coastal walks. Please bear in mind you are up a hill, the walks are quite steep! We would definitely stay again at Gennaker.

This is a beautiful apartment with everything you need - including a sea view.

Beds are comfortable, everywhere spotless. Only down side is the rooms are exceptionally warm (take a fan) Its a lovely walk down to the Carbis bay beach which is outstanding and excellent if your little ones enjoy crab fishing. Bewarned though the walk back is very steep, but also lovely. There is a gorgeous pub 5mi s away called the watermill. Definitely worth a visit, it had a good area for the kids to play - bouncy castle included and a good forage area if your kids like to bug hunt. We went the cor ish arms, however I do not recommend this. In hayke there is a wild life sanctuary that we would also recommned. An whilst in st ives be sure to do the blue thunder speed boat to seal island, very thrilling. Lovely stay would highly recommend.

This is our second time staying at Gennaker and it did not disappoint.

The apartment was clean, comfortable and it is in a great location where we would walk down to St Ives in the evening. I would recommend this to anyone.

Excellent stay and location great facility will defiantly will book agile.

One small issue, No keys for patio doors, could only open from inside, this didn't spoil our stay :)

One toilet roll holder needs addressing in main bathroom,the rubbish collection needs looking at put bin out as requested but not emptied,would have liked complimentary scones &cream; on arrival,as do other properties we’ve stayed in,but overall had a good stay

We had a lovely stay.

Lovely property, well equipped with very comfortable beds. Nice and quiet at night. Lovely to see the sea when looking out from the decking area. Parking space just outside was handy. Beautiful short walk down to Carbis Bay.

Absolutely lovely apartment and the location was beautiful with sea views.

The carpets were a little dirty but other than that everything was outstanding!

the appartment was very comfortable and in very cold weather the appartment was kept lovely and warm .

there was a very good christmas tree with excellent decorations thr lounge ,bedrooms and showers were all very clean and comfortable this was rhe second time we stayed at Grenaker and hopefully not the last

Property and facilities are first rate, unfortunately the beds were too small and firm for our liking, which impacted on our break. The boiler in the second bedroom is also quite noisy and takes some getting used to.

Had an excellent at Gennaker, the property was clean, light and had a high standard of appliances and furniture.

The location was convenient for touring the South West, we normally stay in St. Ives and was nice to not be in the constant traffic jam trying to get into St.Ives. It was convenient to the south west coastal path to walk into St. Ives (especially as it meant we passed the awesome Porthminster beach and cafe on the walk). It was a short walk to Carbis Beach which is safe, quite and very very clean (only thing to be aware of, its a VERY steep walk so is hard work on the walk back). As in other reviews the walls are pretty thin so you can hear the neighbors, tbh this was not a big deal for us as we spent most of our time outside of the apartment. One important piece of feedback for the owner (which I believe has been repeated in other reviews), the instructions for the heating make no sense. They talk of turning a dial to 1, there are no dials on the heating controls only buttons. Luckily I have seen this type of heating control before so could work out how to turn the under floor heating on. However, if you have not seen this type of unit before it is VERY confusing, there are buttons on the control unit, buttons on the boiler and then dials on the thermostat in each room. I REALLY think you need to look at these instructions as the 'stress' of trying to work out the heating unit is a bad start to any holiday. Anyhoo, we had a fab stay and apart from the heating instructions which is a minor minor point, this is a very good property which is good value for money. Thanks so much

What a fabulous apartment.

It’s location was ideal, providing the opportunity to walk down to Carbis Bay beach, Carbis Bay Hotel and local restaurants. We also walked into St. Ives in less than 30 minutes along the beautiful coastal path. The apartment itself was spotlessly clean, modern and excellently equipped with everything you could possibly need for any length of stay. My recent visit was for a weekend away with girlfriends, however I will be returning at the first opportunity with my family as children would love it too. I would absolutely recommend.

Perfect for walking into St Ives or using the train. We expect to climb hills in this area as we come down every year at least once and tend to use you as so reliable, clean and perfect accommodation. One advisory please check light bulbs as only one working out of 4 in main bedroom ceiling lights

Was a lovely location but very hilly so would not recommend for the elderly.

Beautiful surroundings and Carbis bay beach is stunning. Good bus links and the scenic train was pleasant. Will definitely re visit.

"Gennaker was great, very clean. comfortable and in a good location. It was handy we could park 2 cars. We like the Watermill pub at Lelant which has a lovely garden and serves good food. We have there quite a few times over the past few years. We found the Ghost walk quite entertaining. We also enjoyed the walk to Hayle and the walk near Godrevy." S. Ford

Lovely House

"House is very roomy and comfortable and only a 20 min walk to St Ives. It is situated on quite a steep hill so not for the feint hearted. You can get the train or bus into many surrounding areas. The house is a great idea if you go out for the day then just wish to chill together on an evening"<br/>HELEN HUMPHREY
