    5 mile walk into St Ives so away from the hustle and bustle. Great that the apartment has a dedicated parking space however, there is an issue between where Sykes state you should park and the owners of the Wheelhouse who have put a plaque on the wall showing where they think people should park; this caused a couple of arguments and the owners of Ocean Gate need to address this. Great that the apartment has a dedicated parking space however, there is an issue between where Sykes state you should park and the owners of the Wheelhouse who have put a plaque on the wall showing where they think people should park; this caused a couple of arguments and the owners of Ocean Gate need to address this. The apartment is well lit, great bedrooms and open plan living space, the arm chairs are not very comfortable after a long day of walking and the sofa could do with some new cushions but it's ok. A lot of feedback in the visitor book though I'd guess the owners rarely visit and read/ take on board the reviews left, still no full length mirrors anywhere when there is plenty of space for at least one in each bedroom. The bath is very deep with no bath mat provided and it does get very slippery, so care taken especially for young children or older guests. Last Feb there was a clothes horse for drying/ airing clothes this is no longer in the property and there is no washing line so whilst you can wash your clothes you'll be hard pushed to dry them. Also the outdoor furniture is tired and for an apartment that sleeps 4 people only having 2 outdoor chairs is very limiting for outdoor evenings, on this the dining chairs are slightly unsteady and need replacing. Overall we would stay again due to the location however, the owners need to take onboard the comments for how the apartment could be improved.

The open plan living, dining and kitchen area of this coastal retreat is light and airy, perfect for socialising with all your friends and family. Living Area As you enter this modern bolthole, you are greeted into the modern living area of Ocean Gate. With an open plan Living, Dining and Kitchen area, you can enjoy socialing with family and friends. A comfortable dark two seater sofa is positioned in front of the 32" Samsung TV with Sky package. There are two large arm chairs with blankets, perfect for a cosy night in. Throughout the living area there is a variety of local prints creating a seaside atmosphere. Enjoy listening to music of your choice with the HiFi system or curl up and watch a film on the Blu Ray player. Dining Area The dining area is perfectly placed, next to the kitchen, great for socialising with the chef or take the opportunity to enjoy the sea views. There is a contemporary round glass topped table with four chairs to relax and enjoy some local treats. There is Amtico flooring throughout the apartment with gas central heating. Kitchen The contemporary kitchen forms part of the open plan living. Ample storage can be found within the white gloss units and plentiful preparation space is available on the black granite work tops. Integral appliances comprise of Neff oven/grill, slimline dishwasher, Neff washer/dryer and ceramic hob with extractor above. There is also a kettle, microwave, toaster, an under counter fridge and freezer. For all you coffee lovers, there is a cafetiere provided. Sleeping Bedroom One Located towards the back of the apartment, bedroom one comprises of a double bed dressed with crisp linen. There are matching bedside cabinets with reading lamps and a wardrobe. Artwork of the local area can be found dotted on the walls, reminding you of the beautiful seaside town your home from home is set in. Bedroom Two This bedroom can be found just off the Living, Dining area and opposite the family bathroom. There is a dressed double bed with small bedside cabinets and matching reading lamps and a hanging rail. Bathroom The family bathroom is Conveniently fitted with a large bath and overhead shower, perfect for all the family after a long day at the beach. There is a freestanding sink with a mirror and light above along with a towel rail. Above the W.C. you will find a cabinet, great for toiletries. A selection of high quality towels are provided. Outside A veranda, decked area and enclosed gravel area can be found to the front of the property. The tiled veranda is a great sun trap and a perfect place for your morning tea or coffee. The decked area is located towards the end of the gravel area, there is a wooden bistro table and two chairs. Parking can be found to the rear of the property, there is a rear entrance with a small lip to access the apartment.

Just a short drive from iconic St Ives, the seaside village of Carbis Bay is best-known for its beautiful stretch of pure white sand. With turquoise waters and sheltered conditions, the beach feels almost subtropical and is the perfect spot for a good old-fashioned day by the sea. The beach is also home to the Ocean Sports Centre, so if sunbathing is not really your thing, why not hire a kayak or SUP and get out on the water instead. Or why not treat yourself to a Spa day at the delightful hotel which overlooks the beach and has a fabulous terrace where cocktails can be enjoyed in the Cornish sunshine? Carbis Bay has a small range of local shops and restaurants as well as a fish & chip takeaway and railway branch line. The train journey from Carbis Bay into St Ives is perhaps one of the most beautiful in the country; St Ives additionally makes for a great day out, with plenty of galleries to explore. The quayside town of Hayle also isn't far and is home to activities for the all the family, including a golf and a wildlife sanctuary. The Godrevy Nature Reserve and Penwith Heritage Coast are also within easy reach from Carbis Bay, providing outdoors and watersports plans with even more activities to partake in, including coasteering and birdwatching.
