“Our second visit to Pelagos and again the apartment was really lovely.”

Those views are just stunning. Everywhere was exceptionally clean and we have never been in an apartment so well equipped. We were warned before hand about the building work being done next door so was prepared to stay out of the apartment most of the day. Sadly for us it was the noise that came from within the building that spoilt it for us. Very heavy foot steps and loud noises very late at night and early in the morning. Also very clear loud talking and banging of doors/drawers late at night ...

We are tolerant people and would accept these sounds during reasonable hours but the other occupants didn't seem to have much consideration. So for us this was not the best week. We went home feeling really tired through lack of sleep. Saying all this I don.t want to take away how really nice Pelagos as aparment is.

“Loved this apartment, spotlessly clean, lovely decor and amazing views.”

This is the third apartment we’ve stayed in in Carbis this year, all of an excellent standard but the view from this one was the most spectacular. Would like a rail to the top of stairs and perhaps a grab rail in the bath but apart from that an excellent stay.

“The apartment was beautiful, very well equipped with everything you need.”

The most amazing views and fabulous walks on the coastal paths very close to the property. Wonderful places to eat in the Carbis Bay Estate and a couple of other eateries which were good too. Only problem we had which is really out of owners control is the tight parking especially with apartment no 4 who owned and lived in his apartment. We never used the car after initially parking under his strict instruction so he could get in and out without damaging either vehicle, we didn’t want to get into any disagreements. Unfortunately this would stop us using this beautiful apartment again

“Excellent apartment with lovely views.”

Very clean and standard of furnishing and fixtures and fittings second to none. Only gripes are the noise from the apartment above, you can hear every footstep and the parking. If all four apartments are occupied good luck parking if you value your car. With cars parked in 1,2 and 4 I was unable to park so had to leave it on the road. I think the description should say parking space for a 'small car' then perhaps parking would be possible.

“Excellent views: one of the best you can have on the coast - all bay of Carbis Bay, trainline to St Ives, St Ives harbour, Godrevy lighthouse and Hayle dunes, even dolphins in the sea below.”

Wonderful and carefully maintained subtropical garden. Extremely well equipped flat - all fittings to a very high standard. Very nicely styled, in line with modernism - a lot of thinking went into this. Two small issues: water was either hot or cold, mixing in kitchen and bath tub seemed not to work well; noise insulation in building is a bit of an issue - you can hear steps someone makes on the top floor. But overall superb holiday flat, which we fully enjoyed!

“Fantastically positioned apartment.”

Stunning views, and all the essential facilities. The listing details could do with updating .. Electric heating not Gas , No DVD collection. Apartment was exceptionally clean which is comforting at this time. Only gripe is we didn’t have electricity till following morning & we arrived as it was getting dark. I’m sure there’s a means by which we could have been notified as been off since early hours of previous morning. It would have been good to have been prepared as we had to go out to get candles food etc. Just one very low powered torch in property. Aside from that all good.

“Very clean and comfortable, and carefully decorated, reflecting the artistic legacy of the famous previous occupants!”

The view is fabulous and even though it was November, we appreciated the garden and the planting which is done very well. The only picky thing is that parking is a bit tight when all the apartments are occupied.

“The apartment is 5 star plus and extremely clean .”

Which has to do with the house keeper Julie Hadfield especially with COVID ever thing first class. The views are out of this world we have stopped in Carbis bay for many years and are one of the best views. We have booked with carbis bay holidays many times and it has know been taken over by Sykes holidays have to say i am concerned that standards will not be the same. If I may I would like to make 2 suggestion's a hand rail up the main stairs as you turn to the flat ,when you are carrying things up and down you have to hold onto the wall. The other is a full sized ironing board when you are staying for 2 weeks you need to iron things the little one that goes on the table is not sufficient.

“The apartment is beautiful, well decorated, very clean and with all mod cons, but the Piece de Resistance is the absolutely amazing view from the lounge windows looking over Carbis Bay and as far as St Ives Bay.”

We had 2 minor negatives: 1, The pressure on the hot water was extremely inadequate and there was never enough hot water to fill a bath which was strange considering the size of the tank - showering was fine as this was electric. 2, There are 4 car parking spaces (1 for each apartment) but these are extremely tight, if we had fully pulled into our space then we would not have been able to get in or out of the car. There is available parking on the roadside but this was always full with day trippers and users from other hotels. Regardless of these 2 negative remarks we would return to Pelagos Apartment 3.

“Pelagos apartment catered for our every need, it was perfectly located with the train station within 5 minutes walk which we made good use of and the sea view is stunning.”

The small details such as hand wash, cling film, silver foil and toiletries always help out along with a selection of condiments. The apartment was spotless with all mod cons, fluffy towels, power shower and a luxury feel to the place. The south west coastal path is at the bottom of the pretty garden and within walking distance of shops, restaurants and the popular local fish and chip shop.

The apartment is beautiful, spotlessly clean and with a view that is just stunning. The walk from Godrevy to Hell’s Mouth is lovely and we were lucky enough to see the seals at Mullion Cove. We also saw dolphins near to the coast guard looking out in St Ives. The National Trust property Godolphin made for an enjoyable afternoon, we good views from the top of the hill. The train to St Ives is brilliant but make sure it stops at Carbis Bay! Thank you for the welcome pack it was good to start out holiday with a cream tea!

The view from the picture window overlooking the changing colour of the ocean and the view of St Ives is superb. The flat itself was great it contained everything we needed and more. Everything went to plan, down to all the administration, the arrival and warm welcome and the fab welcome pack including Cornish cream tea. We did walks along the costal paths from the bottom of the garden with stunning coves in both directions. St Ives itself has a really great feel about the place and is good to just meander around all the local arty shops etc. We had some of the most fantastic gastronomic food in the area which was a real surprise! The absolutely best is Porthminster Beach cafe, can't say enough about the food, coffee, view and service and experience. Also great local produce, farm shops and deli's to buy good food when eating in. Definitely want to return, have fallen in love with the area and its stunning colour, also Porthminster cafe and last but not least Pelagos. " V. Gajewski

We were most impressed with the amazing views and found the apartment lovely and clean and extremely comfortable. Julie met us on arrival and was really helpful explaining the layout of the apartment and all the equipment. The ordinance survey map that was in the drawer was an asset and we did a number of walks which had already been mentioned in the guest book. One of them was going to see the seals at Godrevy Point. We counted over 50 seals - amazing! The Alba restaurant in St Ives was excellent and we thoroughly recommend it along with the Beach Cafe at Porthminster. The Barbara Hepworth Museum and Sculpture Garden were well worth a visit along with the Eden Project and the Lost Gardens of Heligan. In fact there is a lot we didn't see so we will be back. It was very clean and extremely well equipped - plenty of crockery and cutlery so that you could make use of the dishwasher without using it half full! The kitchen was fabulous containing everything you could want. Pelagos was very comfortable and and decorated to a very high standard. The view is fully 180 degrees and wonderful. Days out - St Michaels Mount, Porthcurno telegraphy Museum, Geevor Tin Mine. Don't bother with Lands End - £5 car park fee not worth it! Eating out at Spinacios, Alba, Porthmeor Cafe for lunchtime tapas and Black Rock for an inventive menu. The Sloop Inn for a pint of Doom Bar ! The apartment has such fantastic views I dont think you will find better! , it was clean and of a very good standard. It was great getting the local train from Carbis Bay to St Ives and we ate out most nights. I would recommend the Porthmeor beach cafe (opposite the Tate), lovely food and the views were stunning. We took a drive to Godrevy lighthouse, then walked around the area. It has stunning scenery and we were lucky enough to see the seals on one of the inaccessible beaches. We also went to the Geevor tin mine which we both felt was really interesting. On one hand you get to see the history of mining, but also you experience the underground tour led by an ex miner and can discover how events affected real people. On our last day we drove to Falmouth, and you can easily spend a day here pottering about , watching the boats, but we visited Pendennis Castle as well. Wireless internet is also available throughout the apartment. Dining Area A glass dining table with two chairs enables guests to enjoy meals whilst looking out to sea. Kitchen The kitchen of Pelagos offers ample storage units and stunning granite work tops. Stand at the sink and enjoy stunning views directly out to sea and Godrevy Lighhouse. Guests will find an excellent range of integrated Siemens appliances including an oven, touch control hob, microwave, dishwasher, fridge/freezer and washer/dryer. Other equipment includes a DeLonghi espresso machine, a cafetiere, toaster and range of utensils to allow self catering in style. For guests who prefer to eat out, Carbis Bay offers some superb restaurants within walking distance including La Casita and the famous Becks fish and chip restaurant. Just a short drive from iconic St Ives, the seaside village of Carbis Bay is best-known for its beautiful stretch of pure white sand. With turquoise waters and sheltered conditions, the beach feels almost subtropical and is the perfect spot for a good old-fashioned day by the sea. The beach is also home to the Ocean Sports Centre, so if sunbathing is not really your thing, why not hire a kayak or SUP and get out on the water instead. Or why not treat yourself to a Spa day at the delightful hotel which overlooks the beach and has a fabulous terrace where cocktails can be enjoyed in the Cornish sunshine? Carbis Bay has a small range of local shops and restaurants as well as a fish & chip takeaway and railway branch line.
