Indoors, guests can relax with a Smart TV and a curated selection of books, whether curled up by the fire or gazing out at the maritime scenery. Sleeping arrangements are thoughtfully spread across the upper floors, featuring a serene double bedroom with its own TV, a second-floor single, and two additional single rooms, perfect for children or friends. This is the third time we have stayed in Pelican cottage.
We love the cottage and the position but this year were quite disappointed with how it is kept. Arrival time was 4pm and it wasn’t ready, it hadn’t been cleaned and there was no linen on the beds. We had to phone to tell Sykes that it hadn’t been done. We were told the cleaner got the handover day wrong and that it would be ready by 6, it was ready by 6:30. We were given £25 each to spend on food as compensation. We were also surprised by the lack and quality of kitchen equipment. There was literally 5 lots of everything, plates / bowls/ cutlery sets which really wasn’t enough, there was no grater or jug and the pans needed replacing, the frying pan was so out of shape the hob wouldn’t register it. This was really disappointing because our last two stays had been fantastic.
Really lovely, comfortable and homely cottage.
Everything we needed, including beach furniture which was an unexpected surprise. Location is perfect, right on the harbour front with a set of stone steps giving easy almost instant access to the beach. Would book again in a heartbeat.
My second stay at the Pelican.
The views of the harbor from all the window are great. Everything you need for an enjoyable holiday are in this property especially the location.
