“This property is probably one of my favourite places we've stayed.”

It looks as though it has been recently renovated and it is incredibly well thought out for guests. It has, in my opinion, all the facilities you need for a comfortable and easy stay. With an easy walk to town (easy as in close, it is very hilly but we had no issues with the pram if you're happy to pick it up for stairs etc). We also had our two year old with us and it felt safe, and worked very well with the bunk bed room. The balcony and view is just phenomenal, it is obviously the highlight. It really is on the beach, and the sound of waves through the apartment will send you into a lovely lull of a sleep and it is very relaxing watching the waves, which when the tide is in, feels as though it engulfs the apartment. It's very special. We went in May, when we had a very small pocket of good weather (ie. no rain!) and it was still very pleasant. My son enjoyed the beach and the gate is directly under the property, with a little well to wash off the sand on your feet by the stairs, so was easy to go back and forth. I would think if we went in the height of summer, it would be even more unbelievable. If it wasn't such a drive away, I think I would have booked for next month already! There were two negatives which would be no parking but even then, there is room to unload and the car park is not far of a walk. It cost us £27 for 7 days at the long stay car park. I saw another review mention a broom for sand, there was a little hoover but yes, a broom with a dustpan would be incredibly helpful and is definitely needed. But these negatives, in my opinion, will not deter another visit and are incredibly minor.

The property

This stylish apartment is located on the first level of a contemporary building in the well-known harbour city of St. Ives. Louies Loft is a first-rate getaway for a family of four looking to holiday in Cornwall and boasts expansive sea views across Porthmeor beach. As soon as you enter the flat and step into the open-concept living area, you will be lured to the breathtaking beach views. The kitchen has everything you could possibly need, including premium hacienda black wood, Porcelanosa tiles, and Neff and Smeg equipment, making it the ideal space for families to prepare, cook, and enjoy meals together. At the dining room table, present the results of your labour before relaxing on the plush sofa and turning on the 55" Smart TV. Have a drink of your favourite beverage while watching the sunset from the balcony, which offers breathtaking views of the sea. In the cooler months, the glass doors make a beautiful backdrop for the living room. Go to the bedrooms, which include a king-size with a Smart TV and a bunk room, to rest. The shower room, which has gorgeous tiling and a rainfall shower, is accessible from both bedrooms via a Jack-and-Jill design. St. Ives Harbour, where you can spend the day people-watching and admiring the diversity of boats that draw into the dock, is only a short stroll away, and the Porthmeor Beach, a haven for watersports and surfing, is directly accessible from the property. The oldest pub in St. Ives, The Sloop Pub, is a must for lunch, and the Norwegian Shops, a short stroll from the home, offers a variety of delectable eateries and independent stores. Put on your hiking boots and hike the South West Coast Path before finding a pub in the heart of St. Ives for a cool drink and some food. There are also a tonne of amazing eateries to try, like Porthminster Beach Café, Pedn Olva, and The Rum & Crab Shack, which serves the catch of the day and has a sun deck. The Barbara Hepworth Museum's sculptures and the delights of Tate St. Ives should not be missed by art enthusiasts, while those looking for some entertainment should visit Paradise Park and Jungle Barn Cornwall for a fun day out. For a chic getaway to this busy Cornish location, pick Louies Loft.
