National Trust Easter Egg Hunts in the South West

Visit one of the many wonderful National Trust sites this Easter in Cornwall. Spring is always about embracing the outdoors, especially when you’re able to enjoy time together as a family – nature really is the perfect solution to family fun, regardless of rain or shine.

In Cornwall, several National Trust properties are hosting Easter egg trails, including (but not limited to!) Trelissick, Godolphin, and Glendurgan. When you navigate the trail you will find Easter inspired activities for the whole family to enjoy, so be sure to plan ahead and not miss out on the fun.

Prices are £3 per trail (in addition to entry fees) and this includes an Easter trail sheet, bunny ears and a chocolate egg (dairy or vegan).

Easter at Eden

Eden Project.

The Eden Project is renowned for its fantastic family-friendly activities and events. This year is no different, and Eden Project have lots in store for those spending Easter in Cornwall. Pre-book your timed entry ticket, and enjoy exploring the magic of Eden via adventures and games including a scavenger hunt, obstacle course, marble labyrinth and a fun hoopla challenge!

For those with a sweet tooth, be sure to take part in the Tricky Choccy Trail, an exciting journey that leads through the Rainforest Biome. As you make your way through the five trail points you will learn all about the ingredients required to make chocolate and perhaps be so inspired, you might try to make some at home! At the end of the trail you can exchange your completed trail card for a delicious chocolate egg.

The Easter Golden Egg Challenge at Paradise Park

Enjoy lots of fun at Paradise Park, taking part in their annual Easter challenge. You’ll have a hopping great time at their Easter Golden Egg Challenge quiz, which will run throughout most of April. Once they’ve completed the quiz, contestants can claim a yummy chocolate reward!

Paradise Park is home to over 1,200 birds, as well as red pandas, red squirrels, and Asian otters. But it’s not just an award-winning wildlife sanctuary – it also has a huge indoor Jungle Barn play centre for fun in any weather.

Easter Holidays at Flambards Theme Park

There’s lots going on this Easter in Cornwall, and Flambards Theme Park is no exception! Flambards’ much-loved mascot, Ferdi the Fox, will be onsite and ready for many egg-citing adventures. What’s more, the infamous new Flambards ride, Thunderbolt, will be open to the public and ready for revellers!

Ferdi’s Big Easter Egg Hunt will also be back on Sunday 31st March. Armed with a quiz trail, youngsters will have to follow Ferdi’s hidden clues to track down the answers and claim their scrumptious chocolate prizes.

Easter at The Lost Gardens of Heligan

We couldn’t compile this list of Cornish Easter events without one of the most loved gardens in Cornwall (and for very good reason!). Spend your time this Easter in Cornwall exploring the network of magical gardens, woodland and farmland at The Lost Gardens of Heligan. Boasting 200 acres of open space, the gardens have been perfectly curated for families, with a myriad of woodland trails in the Giant’s Head Play Area, a Jungle Rope Bridge and a popular play meadow where children (And fun-loving grown-ups) can stay and play all day in nature.

This Easter, Heligan invites visitors to discover the beauty of spring with the adventures of Lowenna the Lost Lamb. Upon arrival, be sure to collect a trail booklet from the Ticket Office and follow Lowenna’s adventure. You’ll collect a stamp for your booklet at each trail point, while uncovering the next step of our little lamb’s journey. At the end of your adventure with Lowenna, make your way to the Heligan Play Meadow Tent where a variety of crafts and activities await, not to forget your chocolate treat!

Family-friendly Performance at the Minack Theatre

Minack Theatre, Porthcurno.

Catch an incredible show in a stunning setting at the famous Minack Theatre. Taking centre stage this Easter in Cornwall is ‘Carrie’s War’ from the novel by Nina Bawden, adapted by Emma Reeves. The award-winning story is inspired by Nina’s own experience of evacuation during the war, and magically captures all the childhood joys and struggles that children encountered growing up at this time. In short, ‘Carries War’ is a truly magical and insightful performance not to be missed.

Whilst this is a family friendly performance, it is suitable for children aged eight and upward. Tickets to events at the Minack theatre sell quickly, especially during the holidays, so be sure to book yours swiftly.

Easter Adventure Quest at Pendennis Castle

Pendennis Castle, Falmouth

Head to Pendennis Castle for an adventure quest this Easter in Cornwall. Little adventurers will need to hunt for clues in the castle grounds and track down hidden Easter eggs to earn their tasty chocolate reward. Whilst there is no requirement to book tickets and you can purchase these on the day, if you book online you will save 15% on your ticket entry price.
