“This is a very nice house but does have some issues.”

It is made clear that the steps are not suitable for some users and whilst two of our party, aged 80 years, managed reasonably well there were some areas where a simple gab handle would have helped and would of course extend the appeal of the house to a wider audience. Clothes hangers are supplied in some rooms but not all. Three of our party had to live out of suitcases. The heating system did not appear to be adjustable , reverting back to the pre-set temperature if lowered? Duvets were very warm, causing sweating, even when separating the double layered duvets supplied. Not sure what togs are used but it would be good if 4.5 tog or 2.5 tog could be offered as an alternative. There was a lack of surfaces to accommodate bathroom items, maybe more shelving units or built in shelves would be useful. Also the only way to use shower gel was to wedge the gel behind the shower control. There are some nice self adhesive soap dishes available which would assist. There were no instructions for the TV, we survived on YouTube , GB news , awful programme . Would have been good if set up for BBC 1, BBc2, ITV 1, Channel 4 and Channel 5 . Seemed there was not a standard aerial. Also no Netflix or Prime services as these requested a pin number when accessed.. The entrance steps are potentially dangerous, need to be checked that they comply with the Building Regulations regarding guarding on the left hand side as it is too easy to step back and fall onto the drive from the top step . A pending claim here if an accident occurs. Could be solved by a simple stainless steel guard / handrail The garden area is very simplistic and some form of landscaping, pergola area / barbeque area could add to the appeal of the house. The above said, we would not dismiss the idea of renting the house again in the future.

With turquoise waters and sheltered conditions, the beach feels almost subtropical and is the perfect spot for a good old-fashioned day by the sea. The beach is also home to the Ocean Sports Centre, so if sunbathing is not really your thing, why not hire a kayak or SUP and get out on the water instead. Or why not treat yourself to a Spa day at the delightful hotel which overlooks the beach and has a fabulous terrace where cocktails can be enjoyed in the Cornish sunshine? Carbis Bay has a small range of local shops and restaurants as well as a fish & chip takeaway and railway branch line. The train journey from Carbis Bay into St Ives is perhaps one of the most beautiful in the country; St Ives additionally makes for a great day out, with plenty of galleries to explore. The quayside town of Hayle also isn't far and is home to activities for the all the family, including a golf and a wildlife sanctuary. The Godrevy Nature Reserve and Penwith Heritage Coast are also within easy reach from Carbis Bay, providing outdoors and watersports plans with even more activities to partake in, including coasteering and birdwatching.
