“Plates and bowls cracked or chipped on arrival no wfi on lower floor, barbecue dirty, no towel or soap in spare toilet and one of the settees on the decking has a broken back.”
There was also a mark on the stair wall in the hall and one on the table in the hall. We took photos. Over all not impressed. We left the house in good order as found all bar the barbecue which we had to clean before and after we used. Please note that we did email Carbis Bay Holidays about these problems but did not receive an answer.
Our feedback to Seafield is overwhelmingly positive so I was disappointed by this negative review which seems to focus on a number of minor issues whilst forgetting to mention what a lovely property this is - I might be biased as I built it! but over the years, we have had so many guests who loved their stay at Seafield and come on a regular basis.
To take each point in turn:
A) Chipped crockery - I have had our cleaner undertake a full inventory and she could find one plate with a tiny chip. We will replace that plate of course.
B) No Wi-Fi on lower floor - we have fibre broadband to Seafield of the highest possible speed, However, there is a concrete slab above the lower ground floor level which makes reception variable in the downstairs bedrooms. The rest of the house enjoys very fast broadband speeds.
C) BBQ dirty - we generally rely on guests to clean the BBQ once they have used it. We will ensure that this is checked in the future.
D) There is outside seating for 12 people in total but a guest would appear to have broken a small piece of plastic on one of the settee backs.- we will of course get this repaired.
D) The staircase and landing was painted over the winter but inevitably during the summer season, guests might mark the walls with a suitcase. The house is cleaned spotlessly but I don’t think it would be reasonable to paint the walls after every guest - especially for a 10mm mark on the wall!
Overall, some very minor points and I am sorry they impacted your stay so negatively. Property Owner
