If you want to escape the beach-bound masses and walk the dog on a mile of crowd-free sands, just along the coast path is the pristine Porthkidney Sands, an expanse of golden sands and sea looking across to Godrevy Lighthouse which is dog friendly all year.

With winding streets lined with boutique shops, galleries, cafés and restaurants, it’s a wonderful spot for a day out. Found around a 20-minute drive away, it’s a bustling town on the edge of Mount’s Bay that’s home to an array of independent shops and galleries, as well as top attractions like the Jubilee Pool and Penlee House Gallery and Museum. From here, it’s also easy to venture towards Marazion to visit the famous St Michael’s Mount, one of Cornwall’s most iconic landmarks.
