“In the kitchen smaller glasses would have been appreciated.”

In the bathroom sunken panel in the floor could be a trip hazard. Having two sets of instructions was confusing. On the whole we had a really enjoyable holiday, the views were amazing and we love St Ives.

Tate Reach

Tate Reach in St Ives Cornwall is ideally located near to the Tate gallery, the glorious Porthmeor Beach and the picturesque harbour and other golden beaches, and offers a choice of fabulous holiday homes.

The property

This one-bedroom, ground-floor apartment overlooks St Ives, at Tate Reach, in the Barnoon area, and enjoys far-reaching harbour and sea views from the lounge and terrace, as well as easy access to Tate St Ives, the town centre, the St Ives scenic railway, and Porthmeor Beach, which are all just a short walk away. This pet-friendly hideaway sleeps two people and can accommodate a medium-sized dog. It's excellent for a romantic getaway with your dog. This idyllic apartment, which is part of a granite faced Victoria house, has been lovingly renovated to retain many of its original features, including lovely high ceilings and a bay window that lets in natural light and enjoys a wonderful view across the roof tops of St Ives, harbour and island, which can be enjoyed throughout the open plan living space, which consists of a kitchen, dining and sitting area, where two plush leather sofas are perfectly positioned to relax while soaking up the views. A romantic eating space has been placed within the bay window, great for two. Take a seat at the vintage table with a glass of wine and marvel over the stunning Cornish perspective that many restaurants would enjoy. The open plan living space to the back features a contemporary kitchen with fitted modern units and sleek black granite look worktops, as well as a separate washer/dryer located in half of the bedroom wardrobe, offering everything you need in your home away from home. This pleasant bedroom is open and airy, bathed by natural light through a window, and features a sumptuously dressed double bed and plenty of storage space. It is positioned off the hallway to the rear and benefits from a private en-suite wet room with refreshing rainfall shower and underfloor heating. A communal seaward facing patio is entered by the front door, with a bistro table and two chairs located in a fenced off area, ideal for an alfresco coffee with a breath-taking view across the roof tops and St Ives bay. A public shower in the front courtyard is perfect for washing off sandy wetsuits, muddy paws, or muddy boots, and a lockable shop on the side of the house has body boards for visitors to use as well as storage for beach gear. The nearby Porthmeor Beach has a seasonal lifeguard service and has been awarded a blue flag for its crystal-clear waters, so why not try out its surf school or have a meal at its beachside café, which is set right on the beach, like the Michelin Plate restaurant found at Porthminster Beach, Porthminster Beach Café, or the plethora of eateries found around the harbour and town, which offer menus to delight any foodie, featuring fresh sea food and local produce, Some of St Ives' smaller beaches are pet friendly all year, but the larger ones have restrictions. Walk along the South West Coast Path to Porthkidney Beach, which is pet friendly all year and has a long stretch of golden sand. Take a relaxing ride back on the scenic railway, which connects the surrounding area and runs alongside the Cornish coast. Book a show at the Minack Theatre, near Land's End, which is carved out of a Cornish cliff edge with the Atlantic Ocean as its backdrop, or watch the sun set over the majestic St Michaels Mount, a castle set on its own island, near Penzance, or take a stroll through Trebah, a sub-tropical paradise with a stunning coastal backdrop, near Falmouth, for a romantic night out. Discover historic tin mines, secret coves, and picturesque harbours, don't forget your camera. Maybe television shows like Doc Martin, Poldark, or films like Fisherman's Friends inspired your vacation to Cornwall, many of its filming locations can be appreciated. Barbara Hepworth is one of a famous group of artists who were inspired by St Ives, and this aptly named flat provides the ideal base to learn why this gorgeous Cornish town has won so many hearts.

A superb destination!
