Parking in St Ives

There’s no way around it – parking is very limited in St Ives during the summer months! Consider using the park-and-ride services to make your visit as smooth as possible.

The St Erth Park & Ride is a convenient option, with space for 500 cars. This service takes you on a scenic 10-minute train journey along the coast, stopping at Lelant, Carbis Bay, and arriving at the station above Porthminster Beach.

Another great option is the Trenwith Car Park, a long-stay car park operated by Cornwall Council with space for 1,000 cars. As the largest car park in town, it’s advisable to head straight there rather than attempting to navigate through the busy town centre. Located at the top of town, Trenwith offers a regular shuttle bus service to the town centre, running until 11 pm during the summer.

If you prefer to drive into town, make sure to travel early and check directions or your Sat Nav in advance. St Ives has five long-stay and three short-stay public car parks, managed by Cornwall Council, which all use a phone and pay system.
